Pravda: Here comes 100,000 year Ice Age
#TCOT #diggcons
I really wish these scientist would decide one way or the other. Just when I’m getting ready to get rid of all my winter clothes and looking forward to tropical weather in Arkansas year round, now it looks like we’ll be trying to survive arctic winters. What’s a body to do?
</sarcasm>
Earth on the Brink of an Ice Agefrom PravdaThe earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.Ice cores, ocean sediment cores, the geologic record, and studies of ancient plant and animal populations all demonstrate a regular cyclic pattern of Ice Age glacial maximums which each last about 100,000 years, separated by intervening warm interglacials, each lasting about 12,000 years.…(Read full article) |

Reid, Dems, and RINO’s block debate on pork laden bill
Today, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) forced a vote to block debate on a $10 billion, pork-laden Omnibus Lands bill. Sixty-six RINO’s and Democrats gave the move enough votes to get around a filibuster by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) who had successfully blocked the legislation last year.
The bill was laden with “wasteful projects” according to Coburn, who for several months has been on a mission to cut Republican (RINO) and Democrat Senators’ pet projects from the bill.
With recent Democratic infighting over President-elect Obama’s warnings that pork will be excluded from his Generational Theft Act of 2009, one can only assume Reid, his Democratic cronies, and the RINOs (who are largely responsible for the dismal performance of the GOP in November’s elections) want to spend all they can, just in case Obama proves true to his word. Reid didn’t comment on Coburn’s charges of waste, but instead stated he was simply trying to get as much accomplished as possible before Obama’s inauguration next week.
Below is a list of all RINO senators who voted with Reid, complete with links to contact them. I will be contacting each of these senators by phone and email this week to express my displeasure and encourage everyone who wishes to see our elected representatives spend our money responsibly to do the same.

*Senator Snowe’s website is unavailable as of this writing.
I’ll be emailing each of their offices a list of questions on Friday to give them a chance to explain their vote. I’ll follow up with a phone call to those who don’t respond by Tuesday of next week. If you have any questions you’d like me to ask, please leave them in the comment thread on this post. I’ll report back with their responses in a follow-up post.

Hamas Doesn’t Want Peace
After two weeks of Israel’s Operation Cast Lead, Hamas continues to hold the citizens of Gaza hostage. Hamas continues to demand a complete Israeli withdrawal before it will discuss a cease fire. This routine is so familiar it’s amazing the UN, MSM, and anti-Semitic leftists around the world still fall for it. At least it would be if their real goal didn’t coincide with that of Hamas–Israel’s annihilation.
That’s exactly what it is; the MSM, UN, and anti-Semitic groups around the world have long sided with Hamas and other terror groups for no other reason than the underlying bigotry that blinds them to terrorist acts, human rights violations, and acts of war against the tiny Jewish state.
Bordered by hostile neighbors on three sides and backed against the Mediterranean Sea on the other, Israel has fought wars to repel aggressor states throughout its six decades of existence. From the time it was recognized as an independent state, Islamic governments and terror groups have called for its annihilation, pitted their armies against Israel, and launched terror attacks designed to maximize civilian casualties.
Virtually every time Israel responds to aggression by its enemies, the UN denounces its actions while ignoring the fact that the violence was initiated by those the UN considers victims of the Jewish state.
Here’s a great post by Dennis Prager that compares Israel with her neighbors and the UN’s treatment of Israel vs. its treatment of the aggressors in this decades-long conflict. An excerpt of these comparisons:
…Number of U.N. agencies that deal only with Palestinian refugees: 1Number of U.N. agencies that deal with all the other refugees in the world: 1Number of Jewish states that have existed on the land called Palestine: 3Number of Arab or Muslim states that have existed on the land called Palestine: 0Number of Arabs Israel allows to live in Arab settlements in Israel: 1,250,000Number of Jews Palestinian Authority allows to live in Jewish settlements in Palestinian Authority: 0Number of U.N. Hamas is strengthened by UN condemnation of Israeli responses and the terror organization’s strategy of using Palestinian civilians as human shields serves its propaganda purposes when the MSM twists its reporting to lay the blame for every death on Israel instead of where it belongs, with Hamas.
Using schools, mosques, and civilian homes to stage attacks and store weapons makes Hamas directly responsible for every civilian death that results from Israel’s targets of these installations. In the following video, a Hamas spokesman admits the terror organization uses women, children and the elderly as human shields.
Watch it again if you still buy the UN, MSM, and Hamas line that presents the Palestinian people as victims of Israel. In their own words, Hamas intentionally places civilians in the line of fire, knowing full well their deaths will be the result. Using women, children, and the elderly as pawns they sacrifice to achieve their strategic aim–Israel’s annihilation.
Israeli government statement on civilian casualties–“These deaths are indeed a tragedy, and investigations are underway to ensure that further operations continue to avoid civilian casualties.”
Hamas statement from video–“For the Palestinian people, death has become an industry at which women excel, as do all the people living in this land. The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahadeen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly, and the mujahadeen…It is as if to say, ‘We desire death as you desire life.’ “
No. Hamas doesn’t seek peace. They seek the destruction of Israel and they’re willing to sacrifice as many Palestinian civilians as it takes to accomplish that goal.

More Democratic Corruption: Baltimore Mayor
Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon was indicted yesterday on 12 counts of corruption involving undeclared gifts from developer Ron Lipscomb and her use of gift cards that had been donated to the city for use by poor residents. You can view the state prosecutor’s indictment here.
Not surprisingly, the CNN article linked above makes no mention of Dixon’s political party. The MSM is again trying to minimize the damage to the Democratic Party.
The indictment comes after a 3-year investigation of Baltimore City Hall by the State of Maryland. Others involved in the corruption have already been indicted, including a former campaign manager of Ms. Dixon, Lipscomb who is also formerly dated Mayor Dixon, and others on the City Council.
In June of last year, Dixon lashed out at reporters and prosecuters when parts of the investigation came to light. Vowing that she would “survive this,” she claimed she could not respond to the damning information made public without damaging her case.
It seems to me if the allegations are unfounded, any response that supported her claim of innocence could hardly do more harm than good for her case.
She was under investigation in January of last year when she endorsed then-Senator Barack Hussein Obama for President. When she stated she believed Obama “will provide the resources for us to continue with our agenda moving forward,” perhaps she saw an opportunity to grab some of those resources for herself.
Even though the ongoing investigation was public knowledge, Obama lavished praise on Dixon at the time:
Senator Barack Obama said, “As the first woman to hold this office in Baltimore, Mayor Dixon is a trailblazer, and she has spent a lifetime working to make life better for Baltimore’s families. From her years as a Kindergarten teacher to serving as president of the Baltimore City Council to fighting poverty and homelessness as Baltimore’s mayor, Mayor Dixon has worked to bring change that matters in people’s lives. As a working mother herself, she knows firsthand the demands on working families in our country, and she is committed to making policies that work for the future of Baltimore. I look forward to working with her to bring change in the months and years to come.” |
Maybe she was trying to get a better feel for how the working poor live when she stole their gift cards that were donated to help them out, but I seriously doubt it.
One might argue that perhaps Obama’s praise of a public officeholder who was under investigation shows a lack of good judgment on the part of the President-elect.
