Should “In God We Trust” be removed from US currency?
MSNBC has an online poll asking that very question. Oh how they probably want to see Americans vote “Yes!”
If so, they’re most likely extremely disappointed. Currently, the vote stands 89% to 11% in favor of keeping the motto on our dollars and cents. Over 17 million have already voted.
So please do your part and help to keep the vote an overwhelming endorsement of the motto and continue letting the rest of the world know “In God We Trust!”
Islam on the March in D.C.

If past media coverage is any gauge, America is about to get a giant, mushy Hallmark card on behalf of Islam on Friday, September 25. That’s the day of the Islam on Capitol Hill rally, which organizers estimate will attract 50,000 Muslims to Washington, D.C.
Hassen Abdellah, president of Dar-ul-Islam, and a main organizer, told the Washington Post that the event was inspired by President Obama’s inaugural address and his speech in Cairo, Egypt in June. The latter was where Obama noted that Islam was “first revealed” in the Middle East, thus implying divine origin. He may have also inspired some Muslims when he told journalists in Turkey in April that America “is not a Christian nation.” The event’s Website proclaims in large block letters: Our Time Has Come.
It will be instructive to compare media coverage to the virtual blackout of the Sept. 12 rally of hundreds of thousands who gathered at the Capitol to protest high taxes, the proposed health care takeover and the rest of the Obama-Pelosi leftist agenda.

When Did Opposition Become ‘Racism’?

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson may have unexpectedly ignited an explosion of race rhetoric with two words in the House chamber — “You lie” — but I can snuff it out with two words in a newspaper — “Jimmy Carter.”
The former president threw rhetorical kerosene on the political flames this week when he twice advanced the lowdown argument that political opposition to Barack Obama — in town halls, faltering presidential poll numbers, the colossal anti-Obama demonstration in Washington — boils down to “racism.”
The allegation is contemptible but, particularly in the wake of the Wilson story, has been pushed by journalists on the Left and Democratic U.S. Representatives mainly from the Black Congressional Caucus. Evidence of racism is so thin, though, the racism-ists must invent lurid details. The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd writes that when she heard Wilson say “You lie” she felt as if, “fair or not,” she heard him say: You lie, boy! Georgia Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson draws a straight line from Wilson’s remark to “folks putting on white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside intimidating people.” Yeah. En route to Bellevue.
It would almost be funny if it weren’t so grotesque.

New Obama Foreign Policy: Abandon Eastern Europe
Today President Obama took another great leap toward destroying the security of America and her allies when he abandoned a planned missile defense system in Eastern Europe. Planned installations in Poland and the Czech Republic are being abandoned.
I’m no longer sure his actions are the result of the naivete I once believed. His recklessness in exposing our nation and our interests to the dangers in our world reeks of a far worse odor than that of naivete. I’m about ready to concede that his irresponsible actions are part of an elaborate plan to destroy our superpower status and dismantle the structure of our society.
His inaction to the threats and belligerence of North Korea this spring, his refusal to stand up for (or even speak on behalf of) freedom fighters in Iran earlier this summer, his blaming America for every wrong in the world and apologizing to corrupt dictators around the world on behalf of our country, and now his bending to the will of Russia to ensure their missiles will have no problem reaching us and our NATO allies if they ever decide to launch, are evidence enough that only a blathering fool could believe all this is good for America.
And Obama’s no fool. I’m more inclined to believe this is a planned destruction of America’s superpower status. An attempt to level the world playing field by bringing us down to the level of our adversaries.
The Heritage Foundation points out several reasons this decision makes absolutely no sense at this time.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the Obama administration is justifying its decision on their determination that Iran’s long-range missile program hasn’t progressed as rapidly as previously estimated. This despite the facts that:
- On February 2nd, Iran successfully launched a satellite into orbit using a rocket with technology similar to that used in a long-range ballistic missile.
- On May 20th, Iran test-fired a 1200-mile solid-fueled two-stage ballistic missile.
- On July 15th, Germany’s foreign intelligence service, BND, announced that Iran will be able to produce and test a nuclear weapon within six months. BND also stated that it has “no doubt” that Iran’s missile program is aimed solely at the production of nuclear warheads.
- On August 3rd, The Times of London reported that Western intelligence sources concluded that Iran has not only perfected the technology to build and detonate a nuclear weapon, could assemble a weapon in just six months, and could deliver the weapon on Iran’s Shebab-3 ballistic missile.
- Just yesterday French President Nicolas Sarkozy said: “It is a certainty to all of our secret services. Iran is working today on a nuclear [weapons] program.”
The only country other than Iran that is happy with President Obama’s decision is Russia. State Duma foreign affairs committee head Konstantin Kosachev told the Associated Press: “The U.S. president’s decision is a well-thought (out) and systematic one. Now we can talk about restoration of (the) strategic partnership between Russia and the United States.” But, in fact, the missile defense capitulation is just one in a long line of Obama surrenders to Russia.
That’s bad enough, but an AP story out today creates more doubts as to the wisdom of the President’s decision.
VIENNA — Experts at the world’s top atomic watchdog are in agreement that Tehran has the ability to make a nuclear bomb and is on the way to developing a missile system able to carry an atomic warhead, according to a secret report seen by The Associated Press. The document drafted by senior officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency is the clearest indication yet that the agency’s leaders share Washington’s views on Iran’s weapon-making capabilities.
It appears to be the so-called “secret annex” on Iran’s nuclear program that Washington says is being withheld by the IAEA’s chief.
The document says Iran has “sufficient information” to build a bomb. It says Iran is likely to “overcome problems” on developing a delivery system.
There’s no doubt the White House is aware of this if the IAEA is, yet still Obama abandons our ability to defend against it! And just for good measure, let’s point out yet another White House lie concerning this issue. The Moscow Times is reporting, “The decision to shelve the project is linked to Iran’s slower than expected progress in developing long-range missiles, the Pentagon said.”
Now it’s obvious somebody’s lying, either the AP story is completely wrong and The Heritage Foundation was mistaken when it reported on Iran’s advances in securing nuclear weapons and their delivery systems or the President is lying. Based on his recent track record and proven willingness to lie to get his way, I’m betting the White House has ordered the Pentagon to lie for it.
And how about Obama’s promise to improve our relations with our neighbors in the world. From The Moscow Times article, “The decision to shelve the missile defense plans angered many politicians and statesmen in Poland and the Czech Republic, who had fought for the bases despite public disapproval.” Add to that the insult of the President making the announcement on the anniversary of the Soviet Union invasion of Poland in 1939, and we can see a distancing of ourselves from our relatively new alliances with the old members of the Eastern Bloc that crossed over to NATO when the Iron Curtain fell.
It’s almost as if Obama is setting the stage for a return to the Cold War.
Once again, this President believes we make ourselves stronger by displaying weakness. Or does he? It’s beginning to look more and more like he really just wants us to be weak.
Boehner: House Passage of Defund ACORN Act “A Victory for American Taxpayer
Washington, DC – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted 345-75 to pass the Defund ACORN Act:
“Today’s overwhelming bipartisan vote to stop all federal funding of ACORN is a victory for American taxpayers. Of course, it is only the beginning. We need to keep up the fight to end taxpayer funding for this troubled organization.
“House Republicans have worked tirelessly to sever ACORN’s ties to the federal government. Those efforts began to bear fruit late last week when the Census Bureau ended its relationship with ACORN under steady pressure from Republican lawmakers. Though today’s vote indicates that the writing’s on the wall for ACORN, President Obama must indicate whether he will join the Congress in taking decisive action to break all government ties with this corrupt organization.
“I’d like to applaud Oversight & Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA), Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), and Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) for the great work they and other House Republicans have done to hold ACORN accountable for its abuse of taxpayer dollars and the public trust.”
NOTE: Earlier this week, Leader Boehner introduced H.R. 3571, the Defund ACORN Act, which has now been adopted as part of H.R. 3221, the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009. An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader staff determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994, and has likely received substantially more indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants. House Republicans have also sent a letter to President Obama asking him to use his authority to end all funding to and break all government ties with ACORN.

Thank you very, very much. You see us poor helpless inferior blacks, oh forgive me, I must be politically correct, “African Americans”, and you want to help us using your superior intellect. After all, we could not possibly succeed in this racist, homophobic and greedy country without your assistance.
I first met you guys in the 70s when I attended the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art on a scholarship. A black kid from the ghetto, I found myself amongst white kids from well to do families. I worked a part-time job to cover my books and art supplies. You guys did not have to work.
And yet, I remember many conversations about how you would never bring a child into this “freaking world” and how “freaking screwed up” this “freaking country is”. You told me how “freaking selfish” your “freaking parents” were and how they only cared about “freaking money”. Then, you drove off in your convertible given to you by your “freaking parents” as I stood at the bus stop.

Liberal Lies on National Health Care: Joe Wilson Edition!

I’m trying to get to the next installment of my Pulitzer Prize-deserving series on liberal lies about national health care, but apparently liberals have decided to torture us by neurotically fixating on one lie.
After President Barack Obama gave a speech to a joint session of Congress last week passionately defending his national health care plan, the Democrats were agog at the brilliance of the speech. Nancy Pelosi was so thrilled, her expression almost changed.
But as Obama ticked off one demonstrably false claim after another — eliciting 37 standing ovations from the Democrats in the audience — America’s greatest living statesman, Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., yelled out, “You lie!” in response to Obama’s claim that the bill will not cover illegal aliens.
There are a number of theories about why America’s greatest living statesman shouted “You lie!” at that juncture, but mine is that Wilson said it because Obama told a big, fat stinking lie.
Every single American knows it’s a lie. But liberals take pleasure in repeating it — and then condescendingly accusing anyone who doesn’t accept their lie of being a toothless, illiterate racist.

Support for Health Care Plan Falls Back To Pre-Speech Levels
Last week President Obama delivered his lie-laden speech to Congress in an effort to regain ground lost in his campaign for a government takeover of our nation’s health care system. Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) correctly pointed out the President’s lie that Obamacare wouldn’t cover illegal aliens, but was attacked by Democrats and the MSM for speaking the truth.
The speech and the coordinated Democrat/media attack on Congressman Wilson seemed to have its intended effects for the first few days. But now things are falling back into place as the American people once again refuse to be deceived by the Democratic demagoguery of conservative Republicans who point out the truth about Obama’s bid to hand control of life and death decisions over to government bureaucrats.

Following President Obama’s speech to Congress last week, support for his health care reform plan increased steadily to a peak of 51% yesterday. However, the bounce appears to be over. The latest daily tracking shows that support has fallen all the way back to pre-speech levels. Forty-five percent (45%) of all voters nationwide now favor the plan while 52% are opposed. A week ago, 44% supported the proposal and 53% were opposed. (see day-by-day numbers).
The latest figures show that 23% Strongly Favor the plan and 41% are Strongly Opposed.
The President can lie all he wants now. It appears the American people aren’t buying his bull anymore!
