How many jobs did Obama’s stimulus create or save last month?
Answer: None.
Reuter’s headline today:
Employers unexpectedly cut jobs in December
Unexpectedly? Really?
The only people who didn’t expect job losses were likely the Marxist, Socialist, oblivious-to-reality Liberal politicians, bureaucrats, and operatives in control who believe the best way to stimulate the economy is to destroy motivation and initiative by confiscating the fruits of producers’ labor and redistributing them to those who don’t produce.
“U.S. employers unexpectedly cut 85,000 jobs in December, cooling optimism on the labor market’s recovery and keeping pressure on President Barack Obama to find ways to spur job growth.”
Though the hard left will likely cling to the fact the unemployment rate held steady at 10%, the whole picture shows there’s little to be optimistic about in the job market. President Obama’s policies have led 661,000 to give up looking for work. That means they’re not even counted in the official 10% figure!
“If they were still looking for work and counted as the unemployed, the unemployment rate would have been 10.5 percent. This clearly isn’t your father’s recession. It is looking more like your great-grandfathers. Brother, can you spare a dime?”–Chris Rupkey, an economist with Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi
Taking the real unemployment number and combining it with the number of workers underemployed (working part-time but seeking full time employment), the bleak picture appears even more disastrous. Would be workers fitting these criteria make up 17.3% of America’s workforce, and actually rose from 17.2% last month.
During the height of the Christmas shopping season (that’s holiday shopping center to those who don’t believe freedom of religion applies to Christians), when more goods are purchased and shipped than at any other time of the year, real actually increased!
Even after all Obama’s “stimulus” programs!
Our Democrat Congress and White House quadrupled the deficit, set record budgets and national debt, and took over private corporations to save the economy and American jobs. But after nearly a year of suffering under Obamanomics, those saved and created jobs remain to be seen.
It may surprise many to discover which employment sectors are bearing the brunt of the damage inflicted by our Democrat leaders who so often proclaim they represent the “working people.” Those who believe such Leninist rhetoric might expect the “working class” to fare better than their white collar counterparts in the Obamaconomy. Given the President’s affinity for unions and their cozy involvement in setting Presidential policy these days, one might also expect sectors of the economy with a disproportionate number of union workers to fare better than less unionized sectors.
Au contraire!
In 2005, blue collar workers were almost twice as likely to be unionized than white collar workers. But last month, the US economy added 50,000 jobs in the white collar professional and business services sector but lost a combined 80,000 jobs in the disproportionately unionized manufacturing and construction sectors.
Blue collar workers are suffering worse under Obamanomics than their white collar neighbors!
It’s been asked before, but with the release of this latest evidence of the failure of Obamanomics the time has come yet again to ask.
Where are the jobs Mr. President?
Universal Voter Registration: Dems’ plan to undermine US elections!
by James Simpson at The Examiner
Many are puzzled that Democrats persist in ramming unpopular and destructive legislation down our collective throats while seemingly unconcerned by their plummeting poll numbers. A widespread belief is that the Democrats are committing political suicide and will be swept from one or both houses of Congress with unprecedented electoral losses next November. But since Democrat politicians rarely do things that will not ultimately benefit themselves, this column asked two weeks ago: “what do they know that we don’t?”
We may have found out. It’s called universal voter registration. The Wall Street Journal’s John Fund described the Democrat plan recently at a David Horowitz Freedom Center forum. Watch the video:
Fund describes the proposal as follows:
In January, Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank will propose universal voter registration. What is universal voter registration? It means all of the state laws on elections will be overriden by a federal mandate. The feds will tell the states: ‘take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver’s license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be…’
Fund anticipates that Congress will attempt to ram this legislation down our throats like they have been with the “healthcare” bill. What a surprise! Fund covers the vote issue at greater length in his book, How the Obama Administration Threatens to Undermine Our Elections, a very good read.
Leftist groups are already arguing that universal voter registration will solve all the problems with our voting system. But the left created most of these problems. The radical leftist Nation magazine, for example, absolutely loves the idea of universal voter registration. This is the same magazine, however, that advanced Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven’s Manufactured Crisis strategy. The Cloward/Piven strategy was designed to undermine government institutions by overwhelming them with impossible demands for services. Cloward and Piven focused on welfare, housing and voting as the main targets of this strategy, and the radical group ACORN was specifically created for the purpose of executing it.

2010 Republican Senate Race Heats Up in Arkansas
Big things are happening in the Republican race for US Senate in Arkansas. Blanche Lincoln’s poll numbers are falling like a rock and even the liberal blog DailyKos is now calling on her to resign. According to The Tolbert Report though, Lincoln’s organization doesn’t seem to be making preparations to throw in the towel. Instead it appears to be digging in for what promises to be a difficult campaign. Even though three of her potential GOP challengers by double digits at this early stage, it appears Lincoln plans to gut it out.
Here’s a rundown on the GOP field as it currently stands.
The already crowded field will take one more player next week when Jim Holt formally announces his candidacy. From Arkansas Watch
Former State Senator Jim Holt, who led the GOP ticket in the 2006 statewide elections, will announce his candidacy in the 2010 U.S. Senate race at a series of events to be held January 14th.
Holt took 44% of the vote in his 2004 loss to Sen. Blanche Lincoln the last time she ran for re-election. Some are tagging him the best chance to beat Lincoln after her vote for Harry Reid’s health care bill last month. That vote, combined with the general hostility to the Democrat Party, has many predicting Holt can fare much better in November than he did six years ago
Holt’s announcement may cause some Republicans in the state to rethink their positions. Many, like Bill Vickery, have been calling for other candidates to clear out and permit State Senator Gilbert Baker to preserve his cash and energy for a general election slug fest with Senator Lincoln. Vickery says “If the Republican Party doesn’t clear the field and make Gilbert Baker the lone nominee, then we are foolish.”
Most consider Baker the favorite in the race for now though. After his first place finish in the Republican Party of Arkansas’ straw poll last month, and his double-digit lead over Lincoln in the latest Rasmussen poll, Vickery’s not the only one who’s tagging Baker the man to beat in this race.
Though Vickery and others have placed their bets on Baker, central Arkansas businessman Curtis Coleman isn’t showing any signs of throwing in the towel. Coleman remains active on social networking sites and continues to travel the state meeting voters. He continues to hammer away at Lincoln and tackle issues on his blog and has recently added several new members to his campaign team.
Recently, Coleman announced the appointment of Matt Lagrone as his campaign’s statewide Political Director. “I am delighted to have Matt help direct our statewide grassroots efforts. He is an experienced political professional and committed conservative who wants to change the way things are done in Washington,” Coleman said. And today announced the addition of Mike Hudome as media consultant for the campaign.
Last month the campaign started with a flurry of press releases demanding Lincoln address several issues, including insulting comments by high ranking Democrats in Arkansas and union attack ads against Gilbert Baker which included the publicizing of his home phone number. Reynolds’ campaign demanded Lincoln abandon the secret negotiations to honor President Obama’s previous calls for transparency in the health care debate.
Then the campaign went almost silent the latter half of the month after his campaign manager, K. Ryan James, announced he was stepping down to pursue other interests. We’d seen little activity in the news and on social networking sites where Reynolds had been active.
But the Colonel informs us he simply took a little time off and has no intention of bowing out of the race. He assures us he has a busy January planned, including Joe the Plumber coming in later this month to campaign for him. Reynolds also says, “You will notice a slight shift in priorities over the next few weeks — a strategy that I believe will win me the primary.”
Fred Ramey continues to travel the state and says “We are finding that a blue-collar conservative candidate with a sincere desire to make a difference for all Arkansans is exactly what many people want.” Ramey remains convinced his blue-collar background and farming experience can beat Blanche Lincoln in the general election.
He admits he had hoped the candidate field would have narrowed by now, but says the campaign is making inroads. Not that he thinks the competition is a bad thing. In fact, he reiterates his committment to running a positive campaign and states that if the other candidates do likewise “this will strengthen the party’s hand now and in the future.”
Kim Hendren points to his lead over Lincoln in the latest Rasmussen poll and claims others show him leading the GOP primary. His committment to the race was recently demonstrated when he pumped $200,000 of his own money into the campaign. Pointing to the fact that some of the money his competition has raised cannot be used in the primary, Hendren says his campaign cash gives him the advantage.
Hendren states he’s developing a solid volunteer organization across the state, and says he’s “especially honored to have state party vice-chairman Duane Neal serving as one of my key supporters and advisers.”
He also tells us the campaign will soon announce upcoming fundraisers in Central Arkansas on February 4 and Northwest Arkansas on February 6.
Buddy Rogers tells us he has no plans of throwing in the towel either. He’s continuing to travel the state with upcoming events scheduled across the state. Rogers says his varied background in business, health care, and the military is resonating with voters. He says he’s “gratified by increased name recognition and support as I travel the state.”
We were unable to contact Tom Cox for this article, but will include an update on his campaign as soon as it’s available.

CSPAN: Let’s make good on Obama’s call for transparency
by House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH)
Washington-Congressman John Boehner is strongly endorsing a request from the head of C-SPAN that the public have full access to health care negotiations as Democratic leaders continue to indicate they will shut the American people out and write a final bill behind closed doors.
“As House Republican Leader, I can confidently state that all House Republicans strongly endorse your proposal and stand ready to work with you to make it a reality,” Boehner wrote in response to a letter C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb sent to congressional leaders. “Hard-working families won’t stand for having the future of their health care decided behind closed doors. These secret deliberations are a breeding ground for more of the kickbacks, shady deals and special-interest provisions that have become business as usual in Washington. Too much is at stake to have a final bill built on payoffs and pork-barrel spending.”
President Obama repeatedly promised on the campaign trail that health care reform negotiations would be public and broadcast on C-SPAN.
Transparency issues continue to dog Washington Democrats, who have compiled a troubling track-record of jamming through massive bills that have not been properly scrutinized. Boehner’s letter highlights the GOP’s congressional transparency initiative, a series of reform measures that includes a resolution introduced by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) requiring that these health care negotiations be made open to the public.
The letter to C-SPAN Chairman and CEO Brian Lamb is available here and follows:
January 5, 2010 Brian Lamb
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, C-SPAN
400 N. Capitol St. NW
Suite 650
Washington, DC 20001Dear Brian,
Thank you for your recent letter requesting that the American people have full access to health care reform negotiations. As House Republican Leader, I can confidently state that all House Republicans strongly endorse your proposal and stand ready to work with you to make it a reality.
C-SPAN’s role in fostering government transparency is so significant that on several occasions during the last presidential campaign, then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) pledged that health care reform negotiations would be broadcast on C-SPAN so the “American people will know what’s going on.”
Unfortunately, the President, Speaker Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Reid now intend to shut out the American people at the most critical hour by skipping a bipartisan conference committee and hammering out a final health care bill in secret.
Of course, every issue of national import should be debated by the people’s elected representatives in full public view, but this is especially true with something as personal and important as health care. Clocking in at a combined 4,765 pages, the House and Senate health care bills propose drastic and expensive changes in the way Americans live. Dozens of differences between the two bills have been identified, including fundamental changes to the patient-doctor relationship.
Hard-working families won’t stand for having the future of their health care decided behind closed doors. These secret deliberations are a breeding ground for more of the kickbacks, shady deals and special-interest provisions that have become business as usual in Washington. Too much is at stake to have a final bill built on payoffs and pork-barrel spending.
As you know, congressional transparency has long been a concern of citizens and congressional observers, but never before has the need for reform been more apparent than in the past year under the Democratic majority. Republicans have listened to the American people and are committed to making Congress more accountable to the people it serves. In November, we proposed a congressional transparency initiative, a series of reform measures that includes a resolution introduced by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) requiring that these health care negotiations be made open to the public. While you await a response from Speaker Pelosi, we will continue to call on her to allow a vote on Rep. Buchanan’s resolution.
Since the first New England town meetings of the colonial era, open government has been a hallmark of American democracy. Over the last 30 years, C-SPAN has helped continue and strengthen that tradition. The American people are well served by your continued vigilance in this matter.
Sincerely,
John Boehner
Member of Congress
Republican Leader, U.S. House of Representatives
Where is Al Gore now?
Just wondering aloud after logging onto Drudge and seeing the following headlines:
- Winter Could Be Worst in 25 Years for USA…
- CHILL MAP…
- Britain braced for heaviest snowfall in 50-years…
- GAS SUPPLIES RUNNING OUT IN UK…
- Elderly burn books for warmth?
- Vermont sets ‘all-time record for one snowstorm’…
- Iowa temps ‘a solid 30 degrees below normal’…
- Seoul buried in heaviest snowfall in 70 years…
- 3 die in fire at Detroit home; power was cut…

Looks like a lot of people might be happy to see a little global warming about now.
Old Folks Will Die Because of Dems’ Lies
The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines genocide as “the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.”
So, if the 2,000+ pages of Democrat health care “reform” result in large numbers of doctors abandoning their elderly patients, or if the monstrous piece of legislation puts more seniors in a position of having to choose between medical treatment and heating their home in the winter, would it qualify the Democrats’ plan as genocide?
The Dems “reform” efforts are most certainly deliberate. They’ve spent months trying to cram their “reform” down our throats, even in the face of “unprecedented” opposition by their constituents. They’ve relentlessly pressed forward, against the will of those who elected them, ignoring calls from their constituents and heeding only the orders of their Dear Leader, Chairman ObaMao, to get something on his desk so he might proclaim victory.
So deliberate certainly fits the bill.
It wouldn’t fit the racial part of the definition, because we’d have equal opportunity to suffer among all races. But would it satisfy the requirement to systematically destroy a political or cultural group?
It’s not a huge leap to recognize that large numbers of doctors refusing to treat elderly patients would likely put many of our senior citizens out of the Democrats’ misery. If they get sick and can’t get treatment because there aren’t enough doctors, more will die. If the doctors who continue to treat our aged relatives demand a larger share of their fixed incomes, there will come a point when an old man or woman decides s/he’d rather die warm with a full belly than starving and cold with that pesky tumor removed.
Because the cuts would be targeted at medical care for seniors, it would make sense to say the destruction of our elder citizens would be systematic.
AARP’s vaunted political power qualifies our seniors as a political group and it wouldn’t be a stretch to label them a cultural group either. But even if one disagrees on the latter, old folks definitely qualify as a political group.
So if the Senate Democrats’ health care bill results in large numbers of doctors abandoning their medicare patients and causes those who continue to treat these patients to increase prices and charge for treatment that was formerly covered by the government health insurance option, we could pronounce the Democrats’ so-called health care “reform” as genocidal.
Today an elderly relative went to see his doctor, whose identity we will protect at this time. Along with the normal paperwork one leaves the doctor’s office with, he was given the following letter.
December 22, 2009 Dear Patients:
As I am sure many of you are aware there are considerable changes occurring in the healthcare (sic) field at the present time.
As of January 1st, there will be substantial negative changes in terms of reimbursement to physicians that accept Medicare patients. This will ultimately result in many physicians rejecting Medicare patients due to these severe restrictions on reimbursements.
My practice does not intend to stop seeing Medicare patients at this time, although if further cuts occur, as are promised that position undoubtedly will change. For the time being we will continue to see Medicare patients.
However, we will have to start charging for services that we have provided free of charge in the past. These charges will become effective January 1, 2010. A complete list of the appropriate fees will be available in my office upon request.
Yours sincerely,
[Removed by request], M. D.
One might say, how is this? The Senate bill isn’t even law yet.
Correct. But…Harry Reid failed to achieve the nearly $250 billion “doctor fix” that would have put his cherished health care takeover bill over the cost that even his spendthrift Democrat puppets couldn’t swallow.
Now, even before the legislation is reconciled between the House and Senate, before it makes its way to Obama’s desk, before it’s signed into law, it’s adversely affecting the health care of elderly Americans. Harry Reid and every other Democrat that voted for this mountain of legislative garbage lied when they proclaimed it will not increase the deficit and it will extend Medicare.
It will KILL old people.
Democrats lie and the elderly will die!
Stop Obamacare in Two Weeks!
It just may be possible. And of all places for it to happen, Massachussetts is the battleground!
That’s right, the land of Martha’s Vineyard, Ted Kennedy, and Barney Frank may hold the key to stopping the runaway train to Socialism that we’ve been trying to derail for months!
On January 19, there will be a special election to fill the seat vacated by Senator Kennedy’s death. Without this seat, the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda will fall flat on its face because the Socialists in DC will no longer be able to overcome a Republican filibuster.
Here’s a press release from Conservative Solutions on Facebook that lays out a plan for winning the first battle of 2010!
Subject: If you REALLY want to stop the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda It’s not faxes. It’s not rallies. It is Scott Brown for US Senate in 15 days!!!
On Tuesday, January 19th there is a special election for the US Senate in Massachusetts. This race has huge national implications. This is the seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy and most importantly, would represent the 41st vote breaking Harry Reid’s filibuster proof majority in the Senate.
If we can elect Army Natl. Guard Lt. Col. Scott Brown to the US Senate then…
- Obamacare. – Dead
- Cap and Trade – Dead
- Another Stimulus Package – Dead
This will be a very low turnout election so GOTV is crucial.
Here are three things you can do.
There has been no public polling released so far. Click on this link and vote for Public Policy Polling to poll Massachusetts this week. (The CT and AL races are 10 months away.)
Click on this link to make Voter ID and GOTV calls via the Brown Campaign’s virtual phone bank. We are halfway towards our goal of making 500,000 calls by election day. The sooner we can make the initial calls, the sooner we can start re-calling Undecided’s.
Finally, if you have $5, 10, $25, $50 or whatever you can spare, please sign up to donate to the Brown Campaign on January 11.
I understand that for some of you, Scott may not be as socially conservative as you would like but he is as socially conservative as you can be and still get elected in Massachusetts.
His opponent supports Taxpayer funding for Abortion. She supports overturning the Defense of Marriage Act. She opposes the troop surge in Afghanistan. She supports a second stimulus package.
If you would like more information about Scott, you can visit his website.
Thank you.
We’ve been fighting a war against our way of life for almost a year now. Here is an opportunity to deal the enemy a decisive blow, and possibly win the war. And it’s a simple three step plan that can be implemented by anyone, anywhere in the US.
- Vote for Public Policy Polling to poll Massachussetts this week
- Make phone calls for Lt. Colonel Scott Brown
- Donate if you can
Voting for step one expires at 9:00 AM EST and we need 200 votes before then!
The past year has shown us what happens when left-wing zealots in the Democrat party completely control the Legislative and Executive branches of our government. We’ve seen government seize ownership of private industry, the Obama administration redistribute assets to its allies, Congress and the President pass and sign spending bills that do nothing to stimulate the economy but saddle our children and grandchildren with monumental amounts of debt, our Commander-in-Chief demoralize our troops and embolden those of our enemies by his apologies and pandering to our enemies, and our own representatives in Congress ignore and impugn us when we dare stand up to demand they honor the oath they swore to protect and defend the Constitution of these United States.
