Not yet a long enough “train of abuses and usurpations”…

…but Democrats are promising more.

The following is part of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Tomorrow, it appears the US House of Representatives will vote for President Obama’s government takeover of the US health care system, not only without consent, but AGAINST THE WILL of the governed!

This planned redistribution of wealth is destructive to Americans’ pursuit of happiness by punishing the successful to reward the unsuccessful. The expansion of government power to mandate the purchase of health insurance will destroy Americans’ liberty to choose what type of health insurance to purchase, or not to purchase it at all. And in the end, as evidenced by those foreign nationals who leave their countries with nationalized health care to have their conditions treated here, Americans’ right to life will be sacrificed as wait times are increased for receiving life saving treatments and patients die as a result.

Tomorrow’s vote, if the Democrats succeed will mark the day our government became “destructive to these ends.” Our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will have all been denied by a narcissistic demagogue whose personal mission more and more seems to be the destruction of the American way of life.

While I am not yet ready to proclaim the past 14 months constitute the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that demands we “throw off such government,” we are certainly moving in that direction. The lavish spending, government seizure of private industry, and complete abandonment of representation of the electorate indeed constitute abuses and usurpations evincing a design to reduce us under the “absolute despotism” of the Democrat Party leadership.

Nancy Pelosi has promised even more changes to the health care system after she “kicks through this door,” or gets this first health care bill to pass. The American people have jammed the phone lines on Capitol Hill, assailed their Congressmen at town hall meetings, and participated in record breaking protests to unequivocally communicate their opposition to the Obama/Democrat agenda. That opposition didn’t begin with the health care debate, it began with Obama’s earliest initiatives.

The American people have stood together to oppose TARP, the auto industry bailouts, cap & trade, cash-for-clunkers, record deficits, bloated budgets, unprecedented levels of national debt, and Obamacare. The entire Obama agenda has been opposed, and that opposition has been ignored time and again. “The consent of the governed” isn’t even a consideration of this administration, or its enforcers in the US House and Senate.

For fourteen months our unalienable rights have been ignored and usurped, with Democrat promises of more to come. Fourteen months is not yet long enough to constitute the “long train” that will demand we take more drastic action.

Not yet, but they’re promising more.

To win in ’10, Arkansas needs statewide participation in GOP primary

The election year is now upon us, and polls undeniably show a strong majority of Arkansans are mad as Hell about what’s been happening in Washington.

Democrats in our Congressional delegation have overwhelmingly voted to support nearly every plank in President Obama’s platform that failed to stimulate the economy, failed to create jobs, and failed to take a strong stand against our terrorist enemies around the globe.

Two of those Democrats, Vic Snyder and Marion Berry, realized they’d followed President Obama too far down his Socialist path and have already chosen not to run for reelection. But Blanche Lincoln and Mike Ross believe they can use their millions in out-of-state cash to convince voters to ignore their votes for Obama’s Socialist agenda.

Other Democrats are stepping into the voids left by the Snyder and Berry announcements. These will claim to be different than those they hope to replace, but we’ve seen how effectively Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid bend Democrats to their will.

We need clear alternatives, candidates who will go to Washington and represent us. Candidates who will challenge the establishment and stand up for what’s right.

The problem is that Washington, DC establishment Republicans also failed to uphold Arkansas’ conservative values when they had the opportunity.

That’s why we need real change in 2010; ordinary men and women who will go Washington and take the extraordinary step of challenging the status quo, men and women who understand their job is to uphold the US Constitution and make the country a better place for our sons, daughters, and grandchildren.

Since both parties have dropped the ball recently, some are tempted to support independent or third party candidates. But history shows us these candidates have almost no chance to win. This year, they are more likely to split the conservative vote and guarantee at least two more years of the Obama Hell that we’ve suffered these past months.

Fortunately, we have an opportunity to accomplish our goals. But it will take a concerted effort on the part of conservative voters across the state.

Historically, participation in Arkansas’ Republican primary has been extremely light.

In 2004, only 54,000 of Arkansas’ 3 million residents voted in the GOP primary. More importantly, fully 41% of those reside in three counties. Eight of Arkansas’ 75 counties supplied over 67% of voters in the 2004 GOP Senate primary. This resulted in voters from a handful of counties actually selecting the GOP nominee.

If the same pattern holds this year, voters in 67 Arkansas counties will have virtually no say in who will run on the Republican ticket. If we hope to nominate a conservative candidate who can win statewide, we need that candidate to be chosen by voters statewide.

If we again allow only 8 counties to choose the GOP nominee, Arkansas will likely send another crop of Obama-Pelosi-Reid lap dogs back to Washington to continue on the path of destroying our country.

The Republican Party is counting on the Tea Party energy and emotion to deliver in the fall for whatever candidate wins the GOP nomination in May. But they may well be counting their chickens before they hatch.

Most Tea Party activists aren’t looking for Republican candidates to support, they’re looking for conservatives. And not just Republican candidates who say they’re conservative during the campaign. These disgruntled voters have had enough of experienced politicians who say one thing on the campaign trail but go to DC and play the game.

2010 could be an historic year for the Republican Party of Arkansas. There are more candidates running as Republicans than we’ve ever seen. The US Senate race alone has 9 declared candidates even though the GOP couldn’t field an opponent to run against Mark Pryor in 2008.

But not all of these candidates will satisfy the Tea Party activists’ hunger for honesty, integrity, and responsibility in their candidate of choice this year. In races across the state; veterans, small business owners, and other non-politicians stood up last spring and said “I’ll stand up for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and accountability against the Obama-Pelosi-Reid lap dogs” –before establishment Republicans realized Berry, Snyder, and Lincoln were vulnerable.

Over the last few weeks we’ve had several professional politicians and other Washington insiders jumping in these races, attending out-of-state fundraisers and claiming they’re the best candidates because they’re “electable.” Our question to them is, “Where were you when Tea Partiers and Town Hall attendees were challenging these once powerful politicians last year?” These are the candidates who will turn off Tea Party voters.

If we hope to elect “real people” who will represent Tea Party activists at the state and federal level, we need voters statewide to participate in the GOP primary. We need GOP nominees who voters in every county can support and we’ll only achieve that if voters in every county take part in their nomination.

If you agree with the 60% of Arkansans who want to stop the Obama-Pelosi-Reid train to Socialize the American economy, encourage your friends and family to vote in the GOP primary on May 18.

Help us nominate real conservatives who will represent Arkansas values in all levels of government.

All Arkansas Dems Vote For Obamacare!

Oh not directly. But yesterday their “Yea” votes on House Resolution 1190 are, without a doubt, votes for Obamacare. And votes against the will of their constituents in Arkansas!

HR 1190 was a Republican attempt to block Democrats’ “Slaughter Solution” (aka “Deem & Pass”) that is being considered by Democrats as an end run around the Constitution’s Article I, Section 5 requirement for an up or down vote on the Senate’s version of Obamacare. Our Democrat Congressmen are so rash, narcissistic, and condescending they believe this unconstitutional tactic to avoid a direct vote on the bill will fool their constituents in Arkansas.

Pelosi and her Democrat allies (all the other 221 Democrats who voted for this resolution) think their constituents are stupid enough to believe yesterday’s vote isn’t a vote for Obamacare. But voting to avoid a direct vote and consider a bill passed without voting on it can’t be considered anything but a “Yea” vote for the bill being avoided. (If that sentence seems a little confusing, it’s because we want you to get the idea just how this Democrat play is designed to confound and confuse voters.)

In the last two days calls to Marion Berry’s (AR-01)office yielded assurances that he will read the entire bill before voting on it, and no final bill was even out yet. Mike Ross (AR-04) outright lied when he declared his opposition to Obamacare. And Vic Snyder (AR-02) never made any bones about his disdain for his constituents’ will. Now this.

Even President Obama admitted yesterday’s vote IS a vote for the unpopular Obamacare in his contentious interview with Brett Baier on Wednesday. When asked by Baier if he supported the use of the “Slaughter Rule” he responded,

“What I can tell you is that the vote that’s taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform. And I don’t think we should pretend otherwise.”

This kind of Democrat shenanigan is exactly the reason we must send a conservative Republican to Congress from the 1st District in November. Doing so will guarantee a vote against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House and put an end to this chicanery.

, one of two GOP candidates for Berry’s seat spoke out against this unconstitutional tactic in his blog post, “Crawford Speaks Out Against ‘Deem and Pass’.”

On a day where a Fox News poll shows only 35% of Americans favor the health care reform bill, Pelosi is attempting to use a tactic dubbed “deem and pass” to push through the Senate’s health care reform bill, without having members of Congress actually vote on the bill. FoxNews.com reports this plan is being considered because, “…many House Democrats don’t want to cast a vote in favor of the unaltered Senate bill, which they oppose for numerous reasons.”

Republican central Arkansas businessman Scott Wallace, running for Vic Snyder’s 2nd District seat says it’s time to “unequivocally say NO to government run health care” and put this issue to rest for good. Wallace’s primary opponent Tim Griffin, a US Army reservist and former US attorney, called the vote against this “common sense resolution” a vote for Nancy Pelosi, and against the people of Arkansas. From Griffin’s press release:

“It is clear Arkansans must elect a new conservative majority to Congress in 2010. More importantly, we need to elect conservative leaders who will represent our values, not Speaker Pelosi’s, and work for the people of Arkansas, not against them.

Garland County Tea Party President and GOP candidate for Mike Ross’ seat in the 4th District, Glenn Gallas slammed all three Arkansas Democrat congressmen in his press release. Gallas says,

” [Ross] allowed the bill to go forward to the detriment of his constituents to please Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. When the Republicans moved to stop the “Slaughter Rule”, Mike Ross, Vic Snyder, and Marion Berry, voted along their party line as they often do, shooting down the chance of stopping the Slaughter rule, thereby permitting the Obama Health Care bill to move forward…”

These Arkansas turncoats can’t hide behind the dishonest Democrats’ devious tactics.

They voted for the bill, they voted for Obamacare, and they voted against the will of their constituents in Arkansas!

Help us remove Nancy Pelosi’s gavel as Speaker of the House by electing conservative Republicans this fall!

Iraq Veterans for Congress PAC Endorses Three Arkansas Republicans

As a result, Congress has over time lost touch with one of its primary Constitutionals mandates to provide oversight, funding and support for the US Military forces. Over recent years, Congress has turned to focused on expanding domestic programs and ignored much of the threat to American from other countries. This has precipitated numerous events and situations like the 9-11 attack on the United States, nations seeking to develop nuclear weapons with no fear of the consequences, modern day pirates raiding U.S. ships on the high seas and more. Leaders of Congress and its members have increasingly disparaged members and branches of the military and its commanding officers. Even today’s Coast Guard has been moved under the Homeland Security Department and is presently being downsized when we have greater threats to our coastal cities and invasion of our coasts by terrorists and other.

The Iraq Veterans for Congress PAC, or IVC, is seeking to make a difference. IVC is a federally registered political action committee supporting the congressional campaigns of conservative Republican Iraq Veterans. Democrats Charge Ahead…Against the Constitution and Our Will!

Last year, President Barack Hussein Obama demanded Congress get Obamacare to his desk by the August Recess…then the Thanksgiving Recess…then the Christmas Recess. Didn’t happen. Why?

Because the American people didn’t want it.

And now he’s set another deadline…the Easter Recess. And again, the American people don’t want his government takeover of our health care system.

But Congressional Democrats don’t care what the people think, they are charging ahead. Earlier this week Pelosi basically told us we just have to trust her to know what’s best for us. “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,” she told the American people. She plans to do just that this weekend.

She and her Democrat allies have even devised a plan to trash the constitutional provision demanding a House vote on the Senate bill using the “Slaughter Solution.” This latest trick was designed by House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) to help vulnerable Democrats avoid a direct vote that will very likely end their political careers.

If adopted, the rule will allow Democrats to “deem” the Senate bill passed without the up-or-down vote President Obama has called for recently. This blatantly disregards the constitution’s (which I’m now doubting any of these Democrats have ever read) Article I requirements for a vote on legislation.

Article I, Section 5

Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish the same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; and the Yeas and Nays of the Members of either House on any question shall, at the Desire of one fifth of those Present, be entered on the Journal.

So the constitution requires, if 1/5 of those present request it, that Yeas and Nays on any question be recorded!

I’m just about 100% sure we can get at least 20 Senators and 87 Representatives to request a vote be taken and the results recorded.

But these Democrat tyrants have no regard for the constitution! And no regard for the majority of Americans who oppose their tyranny! If they can disregard this clause, they can pick the entire document to pieces. An article here, a clause there, a section here, an amendment there…until our founding document has been completely shredded. Our rights, enumerated by our forefathers over 200 years ago, like so much confetti.

Ray Stevens, the artist whose humorous country songs include “Ahab the Arab” and “Mississippi Squirrel Revival” has written what’s sure to be a new hit–Caribou Barbie.

The song pokes fun at liberal media hacks who constantly attack former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and reminds viewers of Palin’s accomplishments while leading the country’s largest (in land area) state. And here are a couple of verses in the song that’s sure to send liberals into even more of a screaming fit:
