MSNBC Propaganda War on Israel

To be expected, but revolting nonetheless.  Here’s the headline for the story about the Israeli attack on a UN girls’ school in Jebaliyah, Gaza.

Israeli strike kills dozens near Gaza school

Some quotes from the article designed to instill hatred of Israel in readers:

Israeli mortar shells exploded a U.N. school where hundreds of Palestinians had sought refuge on Tuesday, killing at least 36 Palestinians.

The carnage added to a surging civilian toll that has drawn increasingly urgent calls for a halt to Israel’s offensive against Hamas.

The three mortar shells that crashed down on the perimeter of the U.N. school struck at mid-afternoon, when many people in the densely populated camp were out and about. Many of those who took shelter in the school apparently had stepped outside to get some air, thinking an area around a school was safe.

“There’s nowhere safe in Gaza. Everyone here is terrorized and traumatized,” John Ging, head of Gaza operations for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

Whew! If I didn’t know any better (about Israel’s history or MSNBC’s radical left-wing bias) I’d be hating Israel after all of that. Especially when the one paragraph in the first 80% of the article that gives the Israeli side of the story ends with unnamed Palestinian witnesses refuting the IDF account.

Israel’s military said its shelling was a response to mortar fire from within the school, pressing its assertion that Hamas militants are using civilians as cover. Two residents of the area who spoke by telephone to the Associated Press said they saw a handful of militants firing mortar shells from a street near the school.

Even the last part of the article is worded to instill doubt in readers of the Israeli version of events, and the final sentence will boil the blood of the uninformed.

Among the dead were many children whose parents wailed in grief at a hospital filled with dead and wounded. Fifty-five were wounded in the attack, the U.N. said.

Notably missing from the article is the fact that Hamas is known to use UN facilities to escape Israeli fire and those who seek shelter there as human shields. The following video shows Hamas firing rockets from a school in 2007! But a UN official is quoted in the article stating that UN staff “work to prevent militants from entering” the school.

This video was uploaded to YouTube in November, 2007. You’d think MSNBC would have been able to find it and understand the likelihood that the Israeli version is the correct one. Of course, they might have if their agenda wasn’t already designed to demonize Israel and minimize the culpability of the terrorists who intentionally draw Israeli fire to such areas for propaganda value.

I’ve been following developments in this story since it broke this morning, but held off reporting on it to get a more accurate picture. It should be known that virtually every MSM outlet at first ran headlines similar to MSNBC when it first broke. However, many of those other sources have since toned down the obvious anti-Israeli slanted headlines like the one still running on the MSNBC site.  CNN is running a much more toned down title, Israel: Hamas mortars prompted attack near U.N. school.

You can read more of the official Israeli response to the disinformation presented by MSNBC at Israelpolitik.org.

Obama to blame for Israeli-Gaza conflict…

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

…so says Al-Qaeda.

Democratic President-elect has remained silent on the fighting in Gaza…until today when he expressed “concern” over the loss of life and promised he’s monitoring the situation closely. Shortly thereafter, an Al-Qaeda audio tape was released, reportedly the voice of Ayman al-Zawahiri, blaming the President-elect and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak for the Israeli assault on Hamas in Gaza.

Recall that one of the themes of Obama’s campaign was to “repair our damaged reputation” in the world community. Biden even went so far as to blame Bush’s foreign policy for creating terrorists. The implication was that if Obama were elected, the clouds would part and we would be loved by those who hate us, respected by those who despise us. Perhaps now they’ll learn.

“My Muslim brothers and mujahedeens in Gaza and all over Palestine, with the help of God we are with you in the battle, we will direct our strikes against the crusader Jewish coalition wherever we can.”–Ayman al-Zawahiri

Of course Obama isn’t the cause of the campaign against Hamas, and al-Zawahiri knows this. This statement by the terror group just proves that radical Islamists don’t need a reason to hate us. They hate us because they believe it’s their religious duty to destroy us. I don’t know if Obama really understood this and simply lied to appeal to the left-wing nuts in this country who really do believe if we “just act right” the world will love and respect us, or if he is as naive as this tape proves his campaign rhetoric was.

The fact is, radical Islam will always hate us and will seek every opportunity to attack us, regardless of who occupies the White House.

The same is true for Israel. Until the radical, militant Hamas is destroyed or forced into submission, there can be no peace.

Obama may want to recall the words al-Zawahiri had for the Democratic Party after Republicans lost control of the US Congress.

“The first is that you aren’t the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen — the Muslim Ummah’s vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq — are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost.”–Ayman al-Zawahiri

Now the fantasy world of the campaign is over and the reality should soon start setting in. Obama and Biden will find their promises are more easily spoken than fulfilled. It’s time to realize you’re either with the terrorists or against them.

Time to wake up, face the reality and decide which side you’re on Mr. President-elect. The terrorists’ or ours?

MRC Endorses Blackwell for RNC Chair

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

The Media Research Center has endorsed Ken Blackwell for RNC Chair.  You can read Mr. Blackwell’s conservative columns on Townhall.com and see his planned fundamental changes for RNC strategy at his website.

The following is the email I received from MRC announcing their endorsement.

A Personal Message from L. Brent Bozell III

John,

The Republican Party needs to be rebuilt. It needs to be reconnected to the conservative principles that made it the majority Party in Washington.

And we have at this important moment a genuine opportunity to affect the direction the Party will take in the years to come. The election of the next Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair will take place at their meeting at the end of this month. Who they choose will determine the future of the Party, and for conservatives and our country this decision could not be more important.

Last Friday, conservative leaders representing some forty different organizations met. These leaders represent a broad cross-section of the conservative movement. One attendee, Virginia Republican National
Committeeman Morton Blackwell, had prepared and distributed a list of questions for the RNC Chair candidates to help determine who would be best suited to move the Party forward. (The 37 questions and the six candidates’ answers can be found at Townhall.com.)

All of the candidates responded to the questions, and all made an effort to promote the conservative cause. Each would be a fine choice to lead the important RNC rebuilding effort.

But after our review of the candidates’ answers and a discussion of their other qualifications, my colleagues and I announced our support of Ken Blackwell — and urged the 168 members of the RNC to elect him at their late-January meeting.

We face many challenges in the weeks, months and years ahead. We need a strong, focused, conservative Republican Party engaged in the fight. I think Ken Blackwell is the person to lead this charge.

Ken Blackwell has been a principled Reagan Republican his entire life and career. He ran and successfully served the people of Ohio in multiple capacities as an unquestioned and unapologetic conservative. He has long been a leader in the conservative movement, both nationally and in growing it from the ground up with his involvement with state level organizations throughout the country. He has been a tremendously successful entrepreneur, and is a stalwart champion of the free market. He is a man of unquestioned integrity. He will be an outstanding RNC Chair.

You are an important fighter for the conservative values we hold dear and that have made this country great. I remain tremendously heartened and grateful that there are so many people like you who still hold fast to America’s great traditions, and resolute in their defense and preservation.

I wanted to write and let you know of our decision to support Ken Blackwell for RNC Chair. And urge you to join with us. Contact your state Chair and your National Committeeman and Woman and let them know that Ken Blackwell deserves their votes for RNC Chair:

Focus of Richardson Probe Gave Obama $30,000

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

Oh this just keeps getting better all the time.  No wonder Obama’s been so quiet since the Democratic Illinois Governor Rod “The Senate Seat Salesman” Blagojevich’s world began to crumble.  The corruption that keeps rearing its ugly head in Democratic circles is getting so close it may just be crushing his chest.

Today we find out the same guy at the center of Democratic Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson’s “pay-to-play” scandal lined Obama’s campaign pockets to the tune of $30,000.

What was that we heard throughout the campaign?  Something along the lines of “we did all this with $5 contributions from the common folk.”  Lies, lies, lies, and more lies.  $30K is more than Bob the UAW worker’s change from his morning coffee, a lot more.  Apparently Obama’s campaign was financed no differently than any other, with big money from influential donors.

Oh he has a website and I’m sure he collected a few bucks through it from the average Joe, but now we know he took a lot of money in through rubbing elbows with the elitist powerbrokers he claimed to despise.

In late September, Rubin attended an exclusive Los Angeles fundraiser for Obama, held at the Beverly Hills’ Greystone Mansion. Attendees gave tens of thousands of dollars which the campaign split between its own coffers, the Democratic National Committee and state-level campaign groups supporting Obama and Democratic candidates. The technique helps campaigns take in from individuals far more than the $2,300 maximum they are allowed to give to a single campaign fund.

B-b-b-but…didn’t he tell us he wanted to get that money out of politics?

Two scandal ridden Democratic governors with close ties to the bringer of Hope and Change and the unscrupulous actions of Democratic operators in stealing the Senate seat in MN are making this transition more and more interesting. Obama hasn’t been burned, but he appears closer to the fire with this latest development.

Our next president just might be bringing Chicago-style politics to DC. How’s that for change?

Playing the Race Card in Burris Case

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

Well it’s finally happened. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has openly stated that racism is playing a part in the Senate’s unwillingness to seat the appointee of disgraced Democratic Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich, Roland Burris after he was turned away today and not allowed to take the seat vacated by President-elect Barack Hussein Obama.

“There is a strong constitutional and legal case for his seating,” he said. “The longer this process takes the more racialized this seat becomes and the more difficult it becomes for Democrats to hold it in 2010.”–Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL)

So, the seat is becoming racialized.

Michelle Malkin recognized this brewing beneath the surface here and here.

So the same nation that just elected an African-American to the highest office in the land is now refusing to let a poor little black man become a Senator because we’re a bunch of racists.  The saddest part is that too many people will buy this line of crap.

Dems Hanging Selves as Senate Prepares to Open

Update–11:00 am CST

Burris denied! Turned away at Senate Door

Roland Burris, appointed to serve out President-elect Barack Hussein Obama’s term in the US Senate by Democratic Governor Rod “The Senate Seat Salesman” Blagojevich, just won’t go away.  Much to the chagrin of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), the President-elect, and other leaders of their party.

After clear signals from party leaders that no appointment from the governor who was caught on tape peddling his political influence would be seated, and in spite of the fact that Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (also a Democrat) refuses to certify the appointment, Burris stationed himself at the Capitol and proclaimed himself the junior Senator from Illinois.

Today, he plans to seat himself.   Yesterday, the Secretary of the Senate refused to acknowledge Burris as the Illinois Senator and, as of now, Democratic leaders still say he won’t be allowed in.  This should be interesting.

That won’t be the only challenge facing the Democratic majority in the Senate as Al “Count ’til you win, then stop counting” Franken plans to take the seat after the MN State Canvassing Board certified the highly dubious recount that effectively stole the election in that state.  Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) has promised to filibuster the seating of the comedian-turned-politician in light of Senator Norm Coleman’s decision to challenge the results of the election in the Minnesota courts, a move encouraged by the MN Supreme Court in its most recent ruling on the recount.

It appears the opening of the 111th Congress is off to a rocky start for the Democrats who were sitting atop the world only 2 short months ago, basking in the glow of their election victories.  Now, the chickens are coming home to roost as each new scandal comes to light.
