Obama’s New Buddy: Hugo Chavez

#tcot

That’s right!  At the summit of the Americas our apologetic President gives a warm greeting to the unapologetic socialist dictator of Venezuela.

It’s no secret that the new administration believes that blame for everything wrong in the world can be laid on our doorstep.  He’s recently been traversing the globe explaining to anyone who will listen just how terrible the US really is.  So I guess we shouldn’t really be surprised to see him warmly embrace the most vociferous anti-US head of state in the Western hemisphere.

After all, Obama and Chavez are of like mind on the cause of all the evil and injustice in the world–the USA!

Take a look at these:

If that’s not enough to make you sick, I don’t know what is!

Why Socialism Won’t Work…

#tcot

I received an email from a colleague with the following story today. No source is cited, but it’s worth as much if it’s a parable as it would be if it’s factual.

Only the totally naive will fail to see this tale illuminates the inherent weakness of a Socialist economic system–lack of incentive creates a subsequent lack of productivity on the part of the populace.

Excellent Lesson In Economics

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Ronald Reagan once said “It’s not that my liberal friends are ignorant, it’s just that they know so much that isn’t true.”
