Congresswoman Schakowsky Owes us an Apology

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted “tea party” protests last week, labeling the activities “despicable” and “shameful.”

“The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs,” Schakowsky said in a statement.

“It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt,” she added. “Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

What is it that the good Congresswoman finds so despicable? People exercising their 1st amendment rights to peaceably assemble and speak their minds?

Please write and call Jan and let her know that she owes the good people of her state, and her country, a sincere apology or she can look for a new career in 2010.

“I am calling Congresswoman Schakowsky today to let her know that as an American, and a Tea Party participant, I was deeply offended by her remarks on Fox News that my exercising my 1st amendments rights were “despicable”. I demand that she retract her statements immediately and issue a sincere apology for her thoughtless words. Does she still stand by her statement that these Tea Parties were the work of right-wing “activists”and not ordinary Americans? (if “yes”) I can assure you that I am not paid or unpaid activist for any political party. I hold her and everyone in congress accountable for the mess we are in. If she refuses to apologize, I just might have to join one of those right-wing activist parties and see to it that she is replaced in 2010″

“Dear Congresswoman Schakowsky:

I have recently become aware of your outrageous remarks made last week on Fox News regarding the Nationwide Tea Parties and am writing to demand that you retract these statements and offer a sincere apology to the hard working Americans that participated in these parties. Had you actually attended a Tea Party, you would have seen that these parties cut across all racial, financial and political party lines. The people that attended these parties were not “right-wing activist”, but ordinary American citizens who have been watching you and the rest of the spend thrift congress pass bill after bill without scrutiny and putting our countries financial future in perilous jeopardy. The only thing “despicable” and “shameful” is the way the everyone in Washington has behaved over the last year! I demand an apology from you for your assault on the character of not only me, but the other Tea Party participants. We will not be quiet, and we will not go away. This is our country, Congresswoman, and you will do well to remember that you work for us.

I just sent two free faxes from using the text above. It only took a couple of minutes and it’s free. This is a quick and easy way to get involved so help us let Rep. Schakowsky know we’re not intimidated by her intolerance of our 1st Amendment rights!

The true cost of Obama’s stimulus…

The arrogance of left-wing zealots has been exposed in the wake of the recent Tea Party movement across the nation.

Congresswoman Jan Shakowsky called us “shameful” and “disgusting” for practicing our 1st Amendment rights.  White House advisor David Axelrod let his true beliefs show when he slipped and stated that our standing up to defend our political beliefs is “unhealthy.”  In the same interview, James Carville thinks the movement is “harmful to Republicans.”  Far left actress and activist Janeane Garofolo spews her vitriol with MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann grunting his agreement, insisting all the protesters are “racist rednecks” who are only protesting a black man in the White House.

They’re so conceited, they believe themselves so superior to everyone else, that they honestly believe no reasonable person can disagree with them!  And they call us elitists?

The Heritage Foundation has a great article, with a great graphic that should convince anyone we have valid reason to be concerned and even challenge our government for the dangerous course it’s charting.  There’s no doubt we can lay some of the blame for the increased red ink on Bush, but Obama seems hell-bent on making sure we drown in it!

Apparently, commenters on the Heritage article sought to convince readers these numbers were contrived as part of some anti-Obama conspiracy, but the post was updated to inform readers the source data for this chart comes from the Washington Post.

So here it is libs, the real reason we’re out there trying to stop this madness before it’s too late!

Proud to be a Rightwing Extremist

Let’s see…

  • I’m definitely a conservative.

  • I’m a USMC veteran.

  • I’ve purchased firearms and ammunition since the November election.

  • I believe the President’s policies will weaken our country’s standing in the world.

  • I perceive increased unemployment and home foreclosures. (and I blog about it!)

  • I want illegal immigration stopped. (or at the very least curtailed!)

  • I want our government to encourage people to work, not encourage them to sit at home and draw a check.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, these activities identify me as a Rightwing Extremist likely to engage in domestic terrorism with “likeminded” individuals or as a “lone wolf.”

When I first saw the DHS report (which wasn’t supposed to be released to the public) on, I wasn’t convinced of its authenticity.  I searched all the MSM sites for any reference to it and found none.  Imagine that.  I guess others with better sources than I have were also searching though, since DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has now admitted the document is a product of “the most transparent administration” in history.  You can download and read the full report here.

It’s important to note one of the Key Findings of the report admits “The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing* terrorists are currently planning acts of violence” but immediately follows this by insisting…

“…but rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues. The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.”

So they realize there are no threats being made by all of these “right-wing extremists” but state that pretty much anyone who doesn’t agree with the administration should be considered a potential terrorist threat!  They go on to imply the transformation of pretty much all conservatives to full-blown terrorists is imminent…

“Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.”

It should now become obvious that DHS is making an argument for at best surveilling every American who’s not afraid to espouse conservative ideology, at worst interring us to prevent the imminent violence we’ll visit upon the Obamatopians in our society.  If it’s not yet obvious, though, read on.

The report repeatedly references the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and economic and societal similarities of that period and today.  Wait…they claim the current economic climate is comparable to that of the early and mid ’90s.  How many times have we heard in the last 4 months that this is an economic disaster like none we’ve ever known?  Now DHS would have us believe that the current economic meltdown is comparable to that of the mid ’90s?  We don’t have to worry about this administration letting facts get in the way of its propaganda.

“…The current economic and political climate has some similarities to the 1990s when rightwing extremism experienced a resurgence fueled largely by an economic recession, criticism about the outsourcing of jobs, and the perceived threat to U.S. power and sovereignty by other foreign powers.”

A picture is starting to take shape for me, a picture of a government that fears its citizens so much that it intends to take preemptive action to quell an uprising that isn’t even planned! If you think I’m paranoid, just take a look at what the report sees as key to stifling the growth of “right-wing extremism” in the ’90s…

“…Growth of these groups subsided in reaction to increased government scrutiny as a result of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and disrupted plots, improvements in the economy, and the continued U.S. standing as the preeminent world power. “

Okay, this is getting a little tiring so let’s summarize what we have so far.  The Department of Homeland Security compiled a report, and distributed it to law enforcement agencies across the nation, identifying virtually every conservative American as a potential domestic terrorist.  Though no real threats have been intercepted, discovered, or identified, their potential imminence demands preparation for a government crackdown on pretty much anyone who disagrees with the Obama administration on anything.

Were you wondering why the Obama administration continues the long-criticized Bush domestic surveillance policies?  I was a little confused at the time, but now things are becoming clearer.  How else can he keep eyes on military veterans, gun rights advocates, pro-life activists, and virtually every other subgroup composed of conservative Americans who are all destined to become domestic terrorists and upset the Obamatopia apple cart?

What’s that?  We haven’t said anything yet about the report attacking gun rights advocates, illegal immigration activists, and pro-lifers yet have we.  Just take a look at the footnote that adorns the bottom of page 2 of the report…

“Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

Are you feeling more than ever like there’s a target on your back?  I know the President claimed to be a 2nd Amendment supporter during the campaign, and many disillusioned gun owners chose to believe him on that score.  If you’re one of those who honestly believed he has no intention of restricting your 2nd Amendment rights, you need to read the following…

Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of rightwing extremist groups, as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for violence against the government. The high volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by rightwing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement. “

So, those of us who’ve practiced our 2nd Amendment rights since the election are a “primary concern” to law enforcement!  Of course his cabinet appointments told us where he really stands on the 2nd Amendment already, but now the DHS is making it quite clear that we are being watched!

If you’re a veteran, you’re even more dangerous than the average right wing extremist!  The DHS makes clear that military veterans deserve special attention because we’re not only likely to become domestic terrorists, but we have specialized training that will make us even more effective wreakers of havoc on American soil!

“Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities. “

“DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. These skills and knowledge have the potential to boost the capabilities of extremists—including lone wolves or small terrorist cells—to carry out violence. The willingness of a small percentage of military personnel to join extremist groups during the 1990s because they were disgruntled, disillusioned, or suffering from the psychological effects of war is being replicated today. “

The references to veterans caused the biggest stir as I’m sure you’ve already heard.  Secretary Napolitano ran the talk show gauntlet in an effort to dampen the criticism, but gave a half-hearted apology for “offending” veterans–not an apology for labeling us as a threat to this country we served and love.  During these interviews it also came to light that some in DHS were concerned and called for changes in the report before and that the Secretary was fully briefed before its release.

If you’re a conservative American, don’t be surprised if you soon become a target of this administration.  Especially if you’re one of the hundreds of thousands who have joined in the fight to take this country back.  The left is truly afraid now.  Not of a call-to-arms, but of the grassroots resurgence of conservatism and organization that has taken place since the last election.  This report illuminates the depth of that fear and the willingness of this administration to stamp out conservative opposition to its complete restructuring of American society.

Though we fight these battles without violence, using the same weapons the left has traditionally used to fight for its political battles, we now see that the administration will paint us with a different different brush.  Though we haven’t called for violence, we must be stopped because we “might” become violent.  Though we argue our points without reference to race, we must be racists because the President is an African-American.

This report lays the foundation for a preemptive strike against anyone who espouses conservative American values on the pretense that we are prone to violence.  This administration believes practice of the 1st Amendment by his opponents to be a precursor to violence.  The same DHS that now refuses to use the term “terrorist” to describe foreign nationals who fly planes into our buildings, blow up our embassies, and behead our citizens, is all too quick to apply the term to Americans with who it disagrees politically.

This only strengthens my resolve to continue the fight, to conjure up as much political opposition to an administration who seeks to dismantle the America I know and love.  I’m proud to be labeled a Right-Wing Extremist by the DHS!

Obama’s New Buddy: Hugo Chavez

That’s right!  At the summit of the Americas our apologetic President gives a warm greeting to the unapologetic socialist dictator of Venezuela.

It’s no secret that the new administration believes that blame for everything wrong in the world can be laid on our doorstep.  He’s recently been traversing the globe explaining to anyone who will listen just how terrible the US really is.  So I guess we shouldn’t really be surprised to see him warmly embrace the most vociferous anti-US head of state in the Western hemisphere.

After all, Obama and Chavez are of like mind on the cause of all the evil and injustice in the world–the USA!

Take a look at these:

If that’s not enough to make you sick, I don’t know what is!

Why Socialism Won’t Work…

I received an email from a colleague with the following story today. No source is cited, but it’s worth as much if it’s a parable as it would be if it’s factual.

Only the totally naive will fail to see this tale illuminates the inherent weakness of a Socialist economic system–lack of incentive creates a subsequent lack of productivity on the part of the populace.

Excellent Lesson In Economics

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Tax Day Tea Party in Little Rock, AR

I’ve finally found a bright side to the new administration. As bad as it’s been to watch as the new Liberal regime dismantles so much of what made America great, as the budget deficit balloons at a record pace with new spending and bailouts, as our government seizes control of private industry, as our children and grandchildren are saddled with debt that their offspring won’t even be able to repay, one good thing is happening as a result of the November elections. Conservatives are finally standing up and organizing!

My wife and I arrived at the Tax Day Tea Party in Little Rock, AR around 4:30 pm CST for our first ever protest. We found an enthusiastic crowd of young, old, and middle-aged colleagues who are sick and tired of the direction our country is headed. Signs and slogans identified their concerns, their motivation for participating (many like us, for the first time) in an organized protest against the US government.

As one would expect, slogans damning Obama’s policies on taxes and spending dominated, but references were also condemning the country’s charge toward a Socialist economic model and even abortion. Not so long ago, conservatives were never seen carrying signs or heard chanting slogans, or even gathering to get our message out. So thank you Mr. President, Ms. Pelosi, and Mr. Reed for motivating us to join forces, organize, and even march to make our voices heard.

A number of signs proudly identified their bearers as “right-wing extremists.” Contrary to what the Obama administration would have you believe, these protesters weren’t foaming at the mouth, shooting into the air, maiming children and the elderly, or murdering innocents. In fact, I interviewed a Capitol police officer who admitted the protest was completely peaceful–not even a hint of violence or disorderly conduct. He did say one participant was asked to leave because the slogan on the sign he carried was “vulgar,” but he left without trouble or incident.

So much for the portrait the left tries to paint of anyone who leans to the right, that of a ravenous beast who mutilates the helpless and innocent.

I was also surprised there was no counter-protest. Evidently, the left thinks we’ll slink off into the shadows if we’re ignored.

The crowd in Little Rock didn’t seem ready to sit on their haunches though. Participants roared as speakers called on them to not let this be the culmination or their efforts. Hundreds signed on and pledged to organize voter registration efforts, to blog, to YouTube, to Twitter, to take the fight to the Left’s home turf, to fight using the tactics of ACORN,, and other left-wing activist organizations.

Thank you Mr. President, you have awakened a sleeping tiger!

It’s time for the (Tea) Party!

This may be the first time I’ve ever looked forward to April 15th, but I’m glad it’s finally here!

I’ll be participating in the Tea Party in Little Rock, AR, but regardless where you live there’s a Tea Party near you!

If you’re sick and tired of the Obama change (headlong charge) hurtling this country down the path toward Socialism or if you believe there’s a better way (i.e. FairTax, Flat Tax, etc.) to fund the government than the current monstrosity we call a tax code, come join us as conservatives enter a platform historically dominated by Liberals–the organized protest.

We’ve seen what happens when we sit back and allow ourselves to be the “Silent Majority.” Our party has lost all sense of the principles that made it great and the country has elected a Left-Wing Radical that threatens to dismantle the very system that made the USA the strongest country in the world in a very short time. Our way of life is at stake, let’s join together for real change–a change that will once again make our country a place where our children can fulfill their dreams.

Find a Tea Party and help us take America back!

Have you suffered from global warming?

Or even if you might at some point in the future, you’ll love this.

How about the latest leftwing strategy to deal with global warning: Sue the government

Originally reported by the Washington Post, there’s a bill in Congress containing a measure for those who…get this…

“… has suffered, or reasonably expects to suffer, a harm attributable, in whole or in part,” to government inaction to file a “citizen suit.” The term “harm” is broadly defined as “any effect of air pollution (including climate change), currently occurring or at risk of occurring.”

Government liability would be limited to $75,000 per case and $1.5 million per year, but the real plot behind this may just be coming to light.

I haven’t found the text of the bill, but Judge Napolitano also reported on Fox News this morning that a clause in the bill stipulates that if you sue the government, you must also sue an industry that has caused the real or perceived harm. Talk about a great way to stimulate the economy…bankrupt industry and give their money to the people!

Some are calling this (correctly in my opinion) an attempt to achieve by regulation what the left can’t achieve by legislation.

Oh, well. This character will likely get rich off these lawsuits.
