Without question, people who zealously guard their freedoms, love their country, and want a better future for their children lost a big battle on Sunday. Yes, Republicans in the House fought skillfully and won the battle with the public, but the legislative chicanery, bribery, and utter disdain for the will of the people won the day for the Left.

Democrats in extremely red districts proved ready and willing to sacrifice their jobs in November to pass the bill. The Stupak block, which held firm for weeks, joined hands with the pro-abortion crowd to federally fund abortions for the first time in our history. The Democrats in Congress didn’t care about the rules, they didn’t care about the consent of the governed, and they didn’t care about what is good for the country. This is a socialist power grab, pure and simple, and a little bit of what has made this a great country died writhing on the floor of the House last night.

The Democrats are calling this a historic moment. So it is. Of course, the same could be said of the crash of the Hindenburg, the sinking of the Titanic, and the start of the Civil War…

Here’s the headline this morning–

White House, Congress near deal on auto bailout.

It made me want to scream.  What is Bush doing?  Has he completely abandoned free-market principles and fully embraced Socialism?  If you read here regularly, you already know where I stand on this bailout and the last one and any other government bailout of private industry.  So you knew this would make my blood boil.

But wait!  Buried halfway down the page I find this:

A group of conservatives led by Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., who has threatened to block the measure, planned a midday news conference Wednesday.

Thank God!  Finally a conservative Republican says enough is enough and puts his foot down.  Stand firm Senator.  Right now you and those with you are the only thing standing between us and the hammer and sickle.  According to Michelle Malkin, Senator Richard Shelby, R-AL , has signed on for the possible filibuster with Ensign and Senator Jim DeMint, R-SC, is indicating he may stand up to stop this fast train to Socialism as well.

We’ve been waiting a long time for our Republican leaders to stand and fight for our conservative values.  Be sure and contact these 3 to let them know we’re with them all the way.  Also be sure to contact your Senators and Representatives and tell them we’ll vote them out of office in the next election if they continue on this path to turn the USA into the USSA–Union of Socialist States of America.  There are links on the right side of this page to contact your elected representatives.

Keep praying fellow conservatives, we may beat this yet.

Michelle Malkin is now reporting two more Republican Senators are in for a filibuster–Senator David Vitter, R-LA and Senator Tom Coburn, R-OK.
