America, You Asked For It!

Political News and Commentary from the Right

The message is clear Mr. President!

But an Ivy League education must not have taught our Socialist President to read Tea leaves or poll numbers in free fall.

He just doesn’t get the fact that Americans don’t want his Socialist dream for the US! Every time President Barack Hussein Obama goes on the offensive, his numbers plummet! Keep talking Mr. President, you’re driving the nails in your own political coffin.

Poll Highlights

  • Fifty-five percent (55%) say that Congress should scrap the current health care legislation and start over
  • Forty-two percent (42%) favor the President’s health care plan while 53% are opposed
  • Fifty-seven percent (57%) believe that passage of the proposed health care legislation will hurt the economy.

Most people without our Socialist President’s Ivy League education understand that Americans just don’t want this level of government intrusion into our private lives. We don’t want a government that can seize control of property, businesses, or even entire industries at will. We don’t want our elected representatives to represent an Ivy League Socialist instead of their constituents. And we don’t want government to insert itself into the health care system and screw it up like it has the Social Security system, the Medicare System, the Post Office, Amtrak, etc.!

It’s really pretty simple Mr. President. We just want you to leave us the Hell alone!

Obama’s Health Care Summit Backfired!

There’s little doubt our Socialist President, Barack Hussein Obama, hoped his health care summit would would change Americans’ minds.

Remember? After lecturing us all summer last year on all the great things a Socialized system would do for us, Obama remained convinced we didn’t know enough about his planned government takeover of another 1/6 of the US economy. After the election of Republican Scott Brown to the Massachusetts Senate seat formerly occupied by Ted Kennedy, President Obama told us we just didn’t understand what he’s trying to do for (to?) us. So he decided it was up to him to educate us.

Earlier this month, the President told his supporters

“What I’d like to do is have a meeting where I’m sitting with the Republicans, sitting with the Democrats. Sitting with health care experts. And let’s just go through these bills. Their ideas, our ideas, let’s walk thought them in a methodical way so the American people can see and compare. What makes the most sense. And then I think we’ve got to go ahead and move forward on a vote.”

Thursday, he did sit down. He did have his meeting. And the results weren’t what our narcissistic Socialist President envisioned.

Yesterday, one day after Obama sat down with Republicans and Democrats, live on CSPAN, the Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking poll showed the President’s approval rating hit a new low. And today, it’s dipped even lower!

Presidential Approval Index = -21%
Total Approve = 43%
Total Disapprove = 55%

Because this poll is based on a three-day rolling average with data collected nightly, two thirds of responses for today’s poll were collected after the televised summit. Even though Obama and Congressional Democrats were allowed more than twice as much time to make their case, this poll shows American voters don’t like and DON’T WANT Obamacare!

Columnists and commentators from both ends and the middle of the political spectrum seemed to think Republicans landed the most punches in the match on Thursday and this poll confirms their initial calls.

We the people are informed, we are educated, and we understand what Obama and his Socialist pals want. WE DON’T WANT OBAMA’S SOCIALIST SOLUTION!

How’s that Hopey-Changey thing working for YOU Mr. President?

Wake up Mr. President!

It’s not that the American people don’t know what you want. We don’t WANT what you want!

Obama Approval Hits New Low

The number of likely voters who “Strongly Approve” of President Obama’s job performance to date has dipped to a new low. The Rasmussen Presidential Approval Index has remained in the negative double digits for the past three weeks and today stands at -14%, only one point off its all-time low of -15%.

But, significantly, the percentage of respondents who “Strongly Approve” of the job Obama is doing has dipped to only 25% of likely voters. This is the lowest number of likely voters who remain staunch supporters of the President since his inauguration!

Even silence can’t him help now

Update: New low for Obama approval–9/1/09

Late last month, we indicated President Obama might help himself by backing off the health care debate. That was back when he was at the forefront, staging town hall meetings with planted questions from children of supporters. It was a little over a month after his ABC infomercial from the White House. It was around the time Democratic leaders in Congress were calling those of us who opposed the bill un-American and just before the White House asked supporters to turn in Obamacare opponents.

Obama’s poll numbers showed a slight uptick when his administration floated a trial balloon for health care reform without a public option, but a threatened mutiny from his far left base quickly shot that down. He then went back to a full court press, insisting there would be a public option and introducing the idea of using the “nuclear option” (a procedural technique for getting around the need for 60 votes in the US Senate) for the first time. Basically he went from trying to sell his plan to telling Americans if they didn’t buy it, he’d cram it down their throats.

No, the President didn’t drop back and punt. In fact, he didn’t drop back at all until last week when he took his family on a millionaire’s retreat on posh Martha’s Vineyard. With Obama in search of a “news free week,” health care almost dropped from the headlines. But it may have been too late.

Yesterday, Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll showed Obama with his lowest overall approval rating among likely voters since taking office. With only 46% supporting the President and 53% disapproving of the job he’s done thus far, one might infer the quiet period came too late. Americans have now recognized this man will lie without conscience to get what he wants.

A majority of likely voters have finally realized Obama’s change wasn’t what they had in mind last November.

Free-Falling Obama Approval Rating

A week ago, we saw Rasmussen’s Presidential Approval Index (PAI) reach new lows, and it appeared to us that President Obama’s radical change was becoming difficult to digest for the American electorate.  Polling was suspended for 3 days over the Indpendence Day holiday, but barbecues, fireworks, and family vacations appear to have done little to make the President’s policies more palatable.

Since polling resumed following the holiday break, Obama’s numbers have been on a steep and steady decline.  Today’s poll shows a mere 30% now Strongly Approve and 38% Strongly Disapprove of Obama’s performance.  That sets a new low for Obama’s PAI at -8%.  It’s also the 7th consecutive day the Index has dwelt in negative territory.  Until Obama found himself in this rut, the longest period the PAI remained negative had been 2 days.  The declining overall Approve/Disapprove numbers in the Rasmussen poll are also deteriorating rapidly.  Though the President still enjoys a slight majority of voters generally approving of his job performance, today marks Obama’s lowest point reached since he took office with only 51% of likely voters who approve and 48% disapproving of his handling of the country’s affairs.

Other polls are showing similar trends that indicate the Rasmussen numbers are no anomaly.  Yesterday, a Quinipiac University poll showed Obama’s approval rating plummeting in the key battleground state of Ohio.  Two months ago, 62% of voters in Ohio approved of the President’s job performance and only 31% disapproved.  The latest poll has only 49% approving and 44% disapproving–a drastic 13% swing in two month’s time.  On the economy, more Ohioans now disagree with Obama’s radical policy changes than agree, by a score of 48% to 46%.  In Quinipiac’s May 6th poll these numbers stood at 57% and 36% respectively.

Last month when the President’s PAI began to slip, his Cairo speech to the Muslim world provided a bounce that pushed the Index back into positive territory for a few days.  However, the bad news of results of Obama’s radical policy changes kept coming.  We saw the CBO estimates that Obama’s plan would be far more expensive than we’d been told and would actually cover far fewer of the uninsured, leading to speculate that full coverage of all uninsured Americans would cost more than $3 trillion over the next 10 years.  The President’s foreign policy blunders bore fruit also as North Korea continued its belligerent actions in the face of the unenforceable UN resolution the President proudly held up as evidence that his apologetic, tail-tucking foreign policy put the US in a stronger position with the international community.

Unbelievable, I know, but it gets worse.

As the Iranian regime became emboldened by the new Obama-weakened US, it violently stamped out the flames of a pro-democracy insurrection while Obama went about without a care–eating ice cream and proclaiming he didn’t want to “meddle” in Iranian affairs.  The hypocrisy of our President then quickly became clear when the government of Honduras constitutionally evicted its sitting President for attempting to usurp the Honduran Constitution.  Obama was quick to stand with his newest anti-American pals, Hugo Chavez and the Castro brothers, to “meddle” in Honduran affairs by proclaiming the constitutional actions of the Legislative and Judicial branches a coup de etat–a term generally reserved for unilateral military action to depose a government and install itself or its representative as the de facto government.  In Honduras, the governmental system was left in place, only the would-be leftist dictator was replaced for violating the country’s Constitution.

Then there’s the economy.  The day before the official beginning of the 4th of July holiday for most Americans, the latest unemployment figures were released.  Oh how the administration likely wished many were already away on vacation.  The unemployment rate, already higher than Obama predicted it would have been without passage of his vaunted “stimulus” plan, continued to climb.  As the economy keeps shedding jobs, the President’s credibility with the American electorate continues to crash.  In addition, more and more details of the “stimulus” plan continue to come to light and even the untrained eye is able to see many programs will have no stimulative effect on the economy.

To put it concisely, everyday more Americans are awakening to the fact that we were conned into enacting the largest spending binge in American history for nothing more than ideological purposes.  Promised jobs are not materializing, they’re evaporating.  Our deficit continues to climb with nothing positive to show for our expenditures.  And in light of the obvious failures of his policies thus far, Obama and his cronies continue their fear-mongering cries to garner support of more of his sure-to-fail “reforms.”

Most Americans were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, most wanted to believe in him and his policies.  But you can’t feed the American electorate excrement and call it chocolate forever.  They just won’t buy it.

July 9, 2009:  PAI = -8

And dropping like a rock.

Obama’s Sinking Approval Rating

Yesterday I posted that Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll found the number of Americans who ‘Strongly Approve’ of Obama’s job performance fell to a new low.  The polling company’s Presidential Approval Index is calculated as the difference between the percentage of Americans who ‘Strongly Approve’ and those who ‘Strongly Disapprove.’  Monday was the first time since Obama took office the index was negative.  Though the ‘Strongly Approve’ number came up one percent today, the index is still negative with 33% strongly approving and 34% strongly disapproving of the President’s performance.  This makes it obvious yesterday’s results weren’t a fluke, now that we see the index in negative territory for two days in a row.

Early in the month, the index reached zero for the first time, but quickly rebounded following Obama’s Cairo speech to the Muslim world.  His rhetoric and promises weren’t enough to hold the numbers for long though as North Korea became evermore belligerent, firing missiles, refusing to honor UN sanctions, and even threatening war against the US.  The Islamic Republic of Iran also took its toll on the President’s ratings following the landslide victory for anti-American President Ahmadinejad in an election his opponents insist was rigged by the council of clerics who really run the terrorist sponsoring nation.  Days of protests by supporters of Ahmadinejad’s opponent, Moustavi, turned violent Saturday after Iran’s Supreme ruler, Ayatollah Khamenei, warned protesters of a crackdown that would result in bloodshed.

Freedom-seeking protesters defied the Ayatollah and the bloodshed began while Obama remained silent, refusing to offer even moral support for the oppressed citizens of the Muslim theocracy.  When he finally did speak out on behalf of the demonstrators, he refused to do so on camera–incredulously clinging to his campaign calls for dialogue with the Iranian rulers who’ve long referred to the US as ‘The Great Satan’–and instead released a three-paragraph statement to the press.  This from a President who’s not shy about asking to stand in front of the lens whenever he seeks to read from a teleprompter to promote his latest attempt to convert our economy to a Socialist system.

It probably didn’t help the President when he decided to slip away and enjoy an ice cream cone while the Iranian supporters of Mousavi, who sought to lower tensions between the US and Iran, died in the streets.   The graphic images broadcast via cell phone on Twitter and YouTube allowed the world to see young men and women murdered, beaten, and dragged from their homes while the American President appeared unconcerned, going about as if the travesty wasn’t even occurring.

Even his domestic policies are now contributing to the decline in the number of Americans who support his Socialist policies.  The President’s health care plan, once expected to pass Congress with relative ease, has suffered possibly mortal wounds in recent days.  Critics are landing blows that must be resonating since even the President’s own party are backing away.  Of course it didn’t help either when last week the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office released its report that found Obama’s plan would only insure about 1/3 of the nation’s uninsured at a whopping cost of $1 trillion.

Add to that the President is now considering new taxes that he campaigned against to help pay for his expensive plan.  Recall that Obama lambasted McCain for supposedly considering a tax on employer paid health insurance premiums during the campaign, but now the President is considering doing just that to pay the astronomical costs associated with his plan to seize control over another 17.7% of the US economy.  He’s set an August deadline for Congress to pass his plan and have it ready for his signature because he knows it won’t pass public scrutiny if allowed to be thoroughly and publicly debated.

Today’s Rasmussen poll is just the latest in a string that are showing a downward trend that may indicate the public is losing patience with the President’s radical reforms.  We recently saw that more Americans call themselves Conservatives than any other ideological political group and that 80% disagree with Obama’s Socialization of the US auto industry.  A majority now say the President has abandoned bipartisanship, though he’s repeatedly called for it from Republicans and campaigned on the idea that he would bring people together.

It’s apparent the President is watching these polls and taking notice, since he’s recently made statements that contradict his actions but pander to dissatisfied Americans.  Obama is so narcissistic, he’s obviously convinced the American people believe him when he claims to support a pay-as-you-go (Paygo) budget so full of loopholes it will allow him and the Democratic Congress to continue their historic deficit spending while claiming to be fiscally responsible.  He expects us to believe he doesn’t want to run private companiies even while he seizes control of them.  But voters can’t be fooled forever.

Obama has enjoyed quite a honeymoon with American voters but, as the recent polls indicate, that may just be coming to an end.  Though he continues to blame most of his problems on Bush, people are realizing it’s Obama’s show now–for better, or worse.
