Psalm 2010

A fellow patriot posted this on one of the Facebook pages we administer and we received permission to pass it along. Enjoy!

Psalm 2010

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.

Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.

I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog …..
And Obama was a tree.

I’ve Got Your Deficit Commission Right Here!

by Joseph C. Phillips at Townhall.com

Even as a bloodbath looms in the November distance, the Obama administration continues to push healthcare because they know that Americans love their entitlements like winos love wine. They are betting the farm that once that fiery warmth begins running through the National body we will not only love national health care, but will fight to defend it. We will also be too glassy eyed to notice that we have suddenly signed away our liberty, becoming slaves to those that serve us. But I digress.

Like wine, entitlements cost money. Sadly the more addicted we become the less money we have to spend on more important and often essential things. The wino lacks food, housing and clothing; the entitlement addict lacks employment, savings and luxury.

Consider that today our national debt stands at roughly $12 trillion or roughly 70% of our gross domestic product or GDP. But wait. We have promised today’s workers Social Security and Medicare benefits totaling another $41 trillion. Toss in another trillion for miscellaneous expenses, and suddenly our debt skyrockets to $54 trillion. In layman’s terms it means in order to pay our future obligations we would need $54 trillion dollars invested today. How much of that money does this nation have sitting around? Zip! Zero! Zilch!

“Chains” We Can Believe In

Here’s a little parody about Obama’s broken promises and failed policies we came up with set to the music from Poison’s “Something to believe in.”

Lyrics

Well I see him on the TV
Preachin’ bout the promised land
He tells me to believe what he has to say
And steals the money from my hand.

Some folks still believe him
But I can’t understand why

One long year of failed policies
And longer lines of the unemployed
Who thought they’d voted to bring jobs back
But learned he was only making noise

His stimulus bill spent all our cash
Cap & Trade made unemployment spike
Harry Reid held votes on Obamacare
Way on up into the night.

People back home, they cried out
“Stop this isn’t what we want”

He gave us chains we can believe in
Chains that bind our souls
Chains we can believe in
Chains that bind forevermore.

He promised us transparency
We’d see everything and more
But he got in the White House
And did everything behind closed doors.

He promised he’d cooperate
He’d change the way things are done
But he got off the train in DC
And continued as a partisan

He said he’d have no lobbyists
And then he brought them in

He gave us chains we can believe in
Chains that bind our souls
Chains we can believe in
Chains that bind forevermore.

Sometimes I wish we didn’t know now
The things we didn’t know then

I drive by empty homes on my street
Homes that were foreclosed on
He promised he would save them
But now the neighbors are gone.

But the CEOs on Wall Street
Got their bonuses again this year
And the poor guy who built their houses
He can’t afford to even dry his tears

And it just makes me wonder
How he chooses who loses and wins

He gave us chains we can believe in
Chains that bind our souls
Chains we can believe in
Chains that bind forevermore.

He’s taken away the high road
And now we’re only left the low

Sometimes I wish I didn’t know now
The things I didn’t then

He gave us chains we can believe in.

Race to Raise the Debt Ceiling

President Obama continues to SAY he will demand deficit neutral legislation from Congress. He continues to PREACH a message of fiscal responsibility. BHO continues to BLAME the Bush administration for every bad piece of economic news released in the wake of Democrats’ unprecedented socialization of the American economy in 2009.

For the first six months of his term, Obama got almost 100% of everything he demanded of his Democrat dominated Congress.

  • He demanded his $787 billion “porkulus” bill be passed to avoid 10% unemployment and the loss of millions more jobs.
    • It passed along party lines and now we have 10% unemployment and millions more lost jobs.
  • He demanded his record budget be passed.
    • Democrats voted for it, Republicans against, and we now have record deficits.
  • He seized control of General Motors and Chrysler claiming it was necessary to make them profitable again.
    • Now the US government and the UAW own the two behemoths. They both remain unprofitable, but their American competitor that DID NOT take a government bailout posted a profit last year.
  • He demanded TARP be expanded so banks would lend money to get the economy moving again.
    • Democrats agreed, the banks got our money, and the credit markets largely remain frozen.
  • He demanded new legislation to stem the flow of home foreclosures.
    • Democrats obliged and now we continue to see record numbers of people losing their homes.

Though President Barack Hussein Obama continues to blame former President George Bush for all the evils in the world, the current President’s solutions have been implemented and solved absolutely nothing!

Now, Democrats in the US Senate have voted to increase the federal debt ceiling by $1.9 trillion to $14.3 trillion from the current $12.4 trillion. The US House will soon vote to do likewise. And today we have yet another reminder of the utter failure of Obama’s economic policies.

According to the US Treasury Department, the federal debt will reach the current debt ceiling of $12.3 trillion by month’s end! No wonder Obama’s in a hurry to raise the limit.

If Congress refuses to allow the President to borrow more, BHO will run out of OUR money to spend! He’ll no longer be able to mortgage our children’s future to buy a few votes. He’ll no longer be able to fund his goon squads at ACORN, SEIU, and the New Black Panther Party! He might even have to slow down his jet setting around in Air Force 1 if the US line of credit becomes maxed out.

Write, call, and email your US Representatives and demand they NOT increase the debt limit. If the President won’t voluntarily cut spending, if he’s going to keep saying one thing and doing another, let’s cut up his credit card and send him the message that it’s time he learn to get by the way ordinary Americans do when times are tough.

We’ve been tightening our belts! It’s time Uncle Sam pulled his a couple of notches tighter.

Suddenly, Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) remembers her constituents

For the past year, Senator Lincoln has sucked up to President Obama and Harry Reid, voting for Obama’s $787 trillion “Porkulus” bill, his budget that set a record $1.4 trillion deficit (TRIPLING THE OLD RECORD!), and casting several yea votes in the dead of night and even on Christmas Eve to help the Senate pass Harry Reid’s version of Obamacare. Lincoln’s Arkansas constituents wanted none of these, and let the Senator know it.

She ignored them. Lincoln even went so far as to not answer phones on days when important votes were taking place. It took intense negative pressure for the Senator to agree to meet with constituents during the Senate’s August recess last year, and then she made every effort to meet with the few handpicked supporters of the health care legislation and leave out any who opposed her desire for the government run health care system.

By November, she had chosen to stand on the fence for a while to appear deliberative and responsive to the chorus of criticism being leveled from every corner of Arkansas. In the end, she proved that she had always had her mind made up to vote with Obama and Reid. In the face of uncountable calls, emails, and faxes from constituents demanding she vote against Reid’s version of Obamacare, Lincoln cast her vote with the tyrannical Democrats running the White House and Capitol instead of voting for those she supposedly represents.

Now that it’s an election year, she suddenly remembers that she represents folks back home, especially Arkansas’ farmers. Here’s the text of her latest mass email to constituents:

Earlier today, President Obama released his budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2011. As Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, I am opposed to cuts to programs important to agriculture and rural communities.

Throughout my Senate career, I have been a strong, independent voice for Arkansas’s agricultural producers. Now, as Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I am standing up for farmers and ranchers and all of rural America once again by opposing cuts that will harm the hard-working men and women who are the backbone of our rural economy.

Put simply, the President’s proposal picks winners and losers. By targeting policies that rural America relies upon, this proposal places a disproportionate burden on the backs of farmers and rural communities. While I too believe we must reduce the federal deficit, we must all share in this responsibility.

In 2008, I worked hard to pass a five-year farm bill that was fiscally responsible. This bill contained over $4 billion worth of cuts to farm programs, was completely paid for and did not contribute to the deficit. The Farm Bill is a contract with our farmers that they depend on to make business decisions. Changing the rules in the middle of the game would be detrimental to their operations and would cost us even more jobs in rural America.

I thank the President for his recommendations, but Congress writes the budget. I intend to support measures to reduce the deficit but fight many of the President’s proposed cuts that will harm farmers, ranchers and rural communities.

What Lincoln means is now that it’s an election year, I have to stand up for my constituents or I’m guaranteed to lose the election. She’s banking on the long-standing assumption of DC politicians that constituents have short memories. The Senator believes her constituents won’t remember her giving them the finger throughout 2009, if she strokes them behind the ears for the next 9 months.

She’s right the President’s budget picks winners and losers. Just like the “Porkulus” bill, his takeovers of private industry, and his last year’s budget that Lincoln voted for. Now that it’s an election year she can’t bring herself to support his obvious bias that benefits blue states and punishes red states.

Only because it’s an election year!

Don’t be fooled Arkansas. Senator Lincoln will try to appear to address your concerns from now until November. If she’s re-elected, she’ll be right back in the laps of Obama and Reid.

Better Watch Out AP!

Telling the truth about President Obama’s administration and its policies tends to make enemies.

But the good news for us on the right is this iconic member of the liberal media may be finally shaking itself out of its hypnosis where the Obama administration is concerned, and finally looking for the truth.

Here’s the AP headline of the day:

AP IMPACT: Road projects don’t help unemployment

“Ten months into President Barack Obama’s first economic stimulus plan, a surge in spending on roads and bridges has had no effect on local unemployment and only barely helped the beleaguered construction industry, an Associated Press analysis has found.

Really? Isn’t that what we tried to tell them back when Obama, Pelosi, and Reid were pushing their $787 trillion spending bill?

The AP even challenges the need for a second “stimulus” bill largely based on the same failed model as the first! It seems the news organization is no longer settling for the crumbs that fall in the wake of the omniscient oracle’s passing, because Obama is actively promoting this second round of spending.

There may yet be hope, even for the MSM!

Clueless

by Linda Chavez at Townhall.com

Clueless. It’s the word that best describes the Obama administration’s first year in office. They’ve proven themselves clueless about creating jobs; clueless about handling growing nuclear threats from Iran and North Korea; and now, most devastatingly, clueless about protecting Americans from terrorist attacks on our own soil. And with nearly one year under the belts, they can’t keep blaming the Bush administration for everything that goes awry.

It is hard to imagine a more incompetent handling of the thwarted Christmas Day bombing of a U.S. jetliner. First, the commander in chief was too busy enjoying his vacation in Hawaii to do much more than issue platitudinous assurances that he was “actively monitoring” the incident, while dispersing White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to the weekend talk shows to downplay the significance of the event.

When the news media began uncovering evidence that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was exactly who he claimed to be when taken into custody — a terrorist tied to an al-Qaida network in Yemen — the administration began backtracking on its earlier statements that the incident was not part of a larger terrorist plot and that “the system worked.” But it took the president three days to appear before the American public to insist on a thorough investigation. By that time, everyone knew that the would-be suicide bomber’s own father had alerted U.S. intelligence officials of his son’s threat to American security. But the warnings didn’t keep Abdulmutallab off a jetliner headed to the United States.

Even the words the president used in his press conference Dec. 28 suggest how clueless he is. He described Abdulmutallab as a “passenger (who) allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device,” repeatedly referring to Abdulmutallab in his comments as a “suspect.” These are the weasel words we use when talking about ordinary criminals, which is no accident. The Obama administration’s anti-terrorism philosophy is to treat terrorist attacks like criminal actions, not acts of war.

Obama using war, climate change, & jobs as distraction for health care

by John Allison III

After spending the summer and fall trying to cram an unwanted government takeover of the US health care system down the throats of the American people, he’s finally managed to get a bill passed in the House and its companion bill debated on the floor of the Senate.  Now’s the time most would expect a final push, a strategic surge, a call on the very reserves of his energy and effort, to cross the finish line with legislation that could ultimately define his presidency.

But, instead of a network news health care infomercial starring the President, he decided to shift gears this week.  Suddenly he’s stepped forward with a response to General McChrystal’s request for more troops in Afghanistan, decided to attend the climate change conference in Copenhagen, and Thursday held a “jobs summit” at the White House. Is he counting his chickens before they hatch?  Does he believe he has this battle won, so he’s already tackling the next challenge?  It’s just hard to imagine after he’s focused on little else for months now, that suddenly the issue no longer draws his attention.

Of course, it could be by design.  All smoke and mirrors to confuse and confound.

Sort of like Nancy Pelosi’s Saturday at midnight vote to pass her vision of “reform” that places our health care decisions in the hands of government bureaucrats, or Harry Reid’s choice to hold the vote to move his bill forward on the Saturday night before Thanksgiving, President Obama is now hoping to take the eye of the American taxpayer off the ball in the last seconds of the game.

His jobs summit isn’t so much about jobs, but it’s just one part of a plan designed to turn the heads of the majority of voters who oppose his vision for the health care system, distracting them long enough to let the bill squeeze through before they realize it.

Think about it…three months after McChrystal issued his request for 40,000 troops, three months of facing harsh criticism for “dithering” while American troops twisted in the wind, he comes forth with a decision that sends the health care story to the inside pages of newspapers across the country.  Just one month after we heard the President wouldn’t be attending the climate conference in Copenhagen, Obama has suddenly done a 180 and decided not only to  attend but to promise a 17% cut in US carbon emissions by 2020.  And now the “jobs summit.”

Don’t be surprised to see the front page too crowded by all these announcements to adequately cover the health care debate over the next couple of weeks.  Look for the mainstream media to fall in line and lead with these stories and others to give cover to Democratic Senators trying to tow their party line while their constituents are distracted.

Obama and his Democratic lackeys in the Senate know Americans don’t trust the government to administer the health care system, but THEY DON’T CARE!  In their minds, we’re incapable of knowing what’s best for us.

They’re creating a diversion, hoping to distract us and force us to swallow their “reform.”

Don’t take your eyes off the health care debate until it’s dead!

Majority Realizes Our Only Hope is to Stop the Change!

Hope and Change.

That’s what President Obama promised on the campaign trail last year and voters lapped it up.  Our President, who had less executive experience than most hot dog vendors at the time of his election, has pressed hard to fulfill the second half of his slogan but obviously missed the mark on the first part.  Since January, he’s fed American citizens a steady diet of radical Change that’s left them feeling more Despair than Hope.

Maybe that’s why his poll numbers are consistently bottoming out.  Gallup, Rasmussen, and Zogby are all showing the President’s approval ratings at or near their low points for his presidency–below 50%.  But Obama refuses to believe his policies are to blame, and even continues to push his Democratic allies in Congress toward political suicide by twisting their arms to coerce them to support his Socialist agenda.

Most Americans have figured out that Obamanomics isn’t working, but the President believes he’s persuasive enough that he can feed them s**t and make them believe it’s chocolate.  Though not one element of his radical Change can be viewed as successful, he continues to press forward with the most radical element of his planned Change–a government takeover of the US health care system–and tries to convince us we’ll be better off with bureaucrats deciding what doctors we can see, what treatments we receive, and what medicines we’re prescribed.

His record thus far demonstrates why a majority of Americans think there’s a better way than Obama’s way.

His stimulus was supposed to keep unemployment from reaching 9% (what the administration predicted it would reach without his stimulus package).  We were told his trillion dollar stimulus package would create economic growth that would cause the unemployment rate to peak at 8% this past summer and spur job growth that would have already begun offering Hope to those looking for work.

But his stimulus package didn’t turn the tide, didn’t stimulate the economy, and didn’t create jobs.  The President’s stimulus actually stimulated the unemployment rate, which spiked to 10.2% last month–13% higher than he predicted it would have reached without the stimulus, and 27% higher than we were promised it would reach if we allowed him to squander another trillion of our hard earned dollars.

He promised time and again throughout the campaign he’d never raise taxes on middle class families, but he’s supported the Cap & Trade bill in the house that promises to raise the average American family’s utility bill by $1700 per year through increased taxes that will certainly be passed on to consumers.  Even his number one priority–creating a government run health care system–promises tons of new taxes that middle class families will be saddled with.

Obama thought he’d finally found a feather for his cap when he blew $3 billion on the Cash-4-Clunkers program this summer.  Though the administration touted it as a success, others recognized that whatever benefit the program provided the economy was temporary at best and short-changing future auto sales at worst.  Later we learned each vehicle sold through the program cost the American taxpayer $24,000.   Unsustainable and too costly, this program can also be chalked up as one of the President’s failures.

His foreign policy failures are as glaring as his domestic failures.  Campaigning on a promise to sit down with America’s enemies, he sold citizens on the idea that our differences were of our own making and the hearts of our enemies would soften, tyrants would become amiable, and the lamb would lie down with the lion in all corners of the globe.

But our enemies didn’t lie down, they didn’t become amiable, and Obama’s naivete only served to harden their hearts and strengthen their resolve to challenge us all the more.  Iran’s bloody crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators, North Korea’s barrage of missiles, and the failure to act in the face of a rapidly growing Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan have proven the President completely incompetent in matters of foreign affairs.

And now, in a resounding slap to the face of all survivors of the victims on 9/11, against the will of a majority of Americans, the administration has announced the Guantanamo Bay terrorists will be tried in civilian courts in New York City!  Including admitted 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

Naivete that can only be present in one who has never worn the uniform, who has never served in the combat arms, who has never put his life on the line for his country is the only thing that can explain this insane decision.

Along with trial in our civilian courts come all the accompanying protections of our bill of rights.  Miranda, rules of evidence, and every other technicality used to protect criminals from punishment for their crimes will now be at the disposal of lawyers for terrorists captured on a foreign battlefield by the US military.

Every pencil pushing bureaucrat who argued in favor of this insanity should be issued boots and a rifle and dropped into a hot LZ along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border tomorrow!  Then let’s see how many of them favor assigning our constitutional protections to the bloodthirsty lunatics they’ll meet there.

But Americans are rapidly regaining consciousness and recognizing their error in voting for this naive and inexperienced President.  While Obama’s approval numbers have often remained under 50% in Rasmussen’s poll of likely voters, today marks the first day a majority disapprove in the Gallup poll of all American adults.

Maybe a few Democrats will begin to wake up and realize our only Hope is to stop the Change!

Contact your Senators tomorrow and tell them to vote no on Cloture for Reid’s health care bill!

By the Numbers, Job Losses Since the Start of the Democratic Majority

Hat Tip: ARRA News Service

With the failure of the Democratic approach to economic “stimulus” becoming ever more apparent, it’s time to look at the current recession from a different angle. This chart shows that unemployment actually began its steep ascent soon after Democrats took control of the House and Senate in 2006!
