Joe the Plumber has a new profession

#TCOT #diggcons

Good old Joe, who called Obama on the carpet and flustered the then-candidate Obama so much that he actually took a position–telling us we would be required to pay more taxes and “share the wealth” under an Obama administration, is heading to Israel.

No, not to fix Palestinian plumbing problems but to document the lives of Israeli “average Joe’s” during the crisis.  He’ll be under the employ of PJTV.com.

I expect he’ll do a far better job than the so-called “journalists” who spread Hamas propaganda at MSNBC.

MSNBC Propaganda War on Israel

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

To be expected, but revolting nonetheless.  Here’s the headline for the story about the Israeli attack on a UN girls’ school in Jebaliyah, Gaza.

Israeli strike kills dozens near Gaza school

Some quotes from the article designed to instill hatred of Israel in readers:

Israeli mortar shells exploded a U.N. school where hundreds of Palestinians had sought refuge on Tuesday, killing at least 36 Palestinians.

The carnage added to a surging civilian toll that has drawn increasingly urgent calls for a halt to Israel’s offensive against Hamas.

The three mortar shells that crashed down on the perimeter of the U.N. school struck at mid-afternoon, when many people in the densely populated camp were out and about. Many of those who took shelter in the school apparently had stepped outside to get some air, thinking an area around a school was safe.

“There’s nowhere safe in Gaza. Everyone here is terrorized and traumatized,” John Ging, head of Gaza operations for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

Whew! If I didn’t know any better (about Israel’s history or MSNBC’s radical left-wing bias) I’d be hating Israel after all of that. Especially when the one paragraph in the first 80% of the article that gives the Israeli side of the story ends with unnamed Palestinian witnesses refuting the IDF account.

Israel’s military said its shelling was a response to mortar fire from within the school, pressing its assertion that Hamas militants are using civilians as cover. Two residents of the area who spoke by telephone to the Associated Press said they saw a handful of militants firing mortar shells from a street near the school.

Even the last part of the article is worded to instill doubt in readers of the Israeli version of events, and the final sentence will boil the blood of the uninformed.

Among the dead were many children whose parents wailed in grief at a hospital filled with dead and wounded. Fifty-five were wounded in the attack, the U.N. said.

Notably missing from the article is the fact that Hamas is known to use UN facilities to escape Israeli fire and those who seek shelter there as human shields. The following video shows Hamas firing rockets from a school in 2007! But a UN official is quoted in the article stating that UN staff “work to prevent militants from entering” the school.

This video was uploaded to YouTube in November, 2007. You’d think MSNBC would have been able to find it and understand the likelihood that the Israeli version is the correct one. Of course, they might have if their agenda wasn’t already designed to demonize Israel and minimize the culpability of the terrorists who intentionally draw Israeli fire to such areas for propaganda value.

I’ve been following developments in this story since it broke this morning, but held off reporting on it to get a more accurate picture. It should be known that virtually every MSM outlet at first ran headlines similar to MSNBC when it first broke. However, many of those other sources have since toned down the obvious anti-Israeli slanted headlines like the one still running on the MSNBC site.  CNN is running a much more toned down title, Israel: Hamas mortars prompted attack near U.N. school.

You can read more of the official Israeli response to the disinformation presented by MSNBC at Israelpolitik.org.

Obama to blame for Israeli-Gaza conflict…

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

…so says Al-Qaeda.

Democratic President-elect has remained silent on the fighting in Gaza…until today when he expressed “concern” over the loss of life and promised he’s monitoring the situation closely. Shortly thereafter, an Al-Qaeda audio tape was released, reportedly the voice of Ayman al-Zawahiri, blaming the President-elect and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak for the Israeli assault on Hamas in Gaza.

Recall that one of the themes of Obama’s campaign was to “repair our damaged reputation” in the world community. Biden even went so far as to blame Bush’s foreign policy for creating terrorists. The implication was that if Obama were elected, the clouds would part and we would be loved by those who hate us, respected by those who despise us. Perhaps now they’ll learn.

“My Muslim brothers and mujahedeens in Gaza and all over Palestine, with the help of God we are with you in the battle, we will direct our strikes against the crusader Jewish coalition wherever we can.”–Ayman al-Zawahiri

Of course Obama isn’t the cause of the campaign against Hamas, and al-Zawahiri knows this. This statement by the terror group just proves that radical Islamists don’t need a reason to hate us. They hate us because they believe it’s their religious duty to destroy us. I don’t know if Obama really understood this and simply lied to appeal to the left-wing nuts in this country who really do believe if we “just act right” the world will love and respect us, or if he is as naive as this tape proves his campaign rhetoric was.

The fact is, radical Islam will always hate us and will seek every opportunity to attack us, regardless of who occupies the White House.

The same is true for Israel. Until the radical, militant Hamas is destroyed or forced into submission, there can be no peace.

Obama may want to recall the words al-Zawahiri had for the Democratic Party after Republicans lost control of the US Congress.

“The first is that you aren’t the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen — the Muslim Ummah’s vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq — are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost.”–Ayman al-Zawahiri

Now the fantasy world of the campaign is over and the reality should soon start setting in. Obama and Biden will find their promises are more easily spoken than fulfilled. It’s time to realize you’re either with the terrorists or against them.

Time to wake up, face the reality and decide which side you’re on Mr. President-elect. The terrorists’ or ours?

Iranian reformist daily: Hamas hiding forces in nurseries and hospitals

by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Jan. 1, 2009

An Iranian reformist daily newspaper has criticized Hamas “for risking lives of civilians, amongst them children, by hiding its forces in nurseries and hospitals.” This is reported in today’s Palestinian daily Al-Ayyam. The Palestinian daily adds that in response the Iranian government has closed the newspaper.

The following is the story in today’s Al-Ayyam:

Headline: “Iran closes a reformist newspaper, for publishing a report criticizing Hamas”

“The Iranian news agency “Irna” reported yesterday, that the Iranian Culture Ministry has closed the reformist daily newspaper “Karjo Zaran”, because it published a report that included criticism of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

On December 30 the paper published a statement of a reformist student organization, that has criticized Hamas for risking lives of civilians, amongst them children, by hiding its forces in nurseries and hospitals. The statement was published whilst the Iranian government expresses a unified stands against Israel, and Tehran is overwhelmed by demonstrations against Israel.”

A Palestinian girl whose family members were killed yesterday in Gaza: “I say Hamas is the cause of all wars.”

by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Dec. 29, 2008

A Palestinian girl whose family members was killed yesterday in Gaza after an Israeli air attack was interviewed today on Palestinian TV and placed the blame for the war on Hamas:

[Girl] “We were sleeping 7 girls in the room. We were asleep and didn’t know what was happening. In the morning all the bricks were on top of my head, and the heads of all my sisters. My 4 year old sister next to me was dead.”

[Interviewer] “How many were you?”

[Girl] “Seven. In the other room were my mother, my father, my yonger brother and another sister, who is 13 days old. I say, Hamas is the cause, in the first place, of all wars.”

[PATV (Fatah) Dec. 29, 2008]

Here’s the video of the young girl who lost her family subtitled in English.

I’m praying this young girl doesn’t suffer a fate similar to these Palestinians who Hamas used to intimidate the citizens of Gaza to prevent their collaborating with the Israelis or switching their positions to support the Fatah movement that was forced out of Gaza when Hamas came to power.

Here are more PMW bulletins from last month.

Mahmoud Abbas: Hamas responsible for violence

by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Dec. 28, 2008

In a news conference today from Cairo, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas placed the blame for the violence in the Gaza Strip squarely on the shoulders of Hamas. He described how he repeatedly made contact with Hamas and implored them not to break the ceasefire. He lamented that the violence in the Gaza Strip could have been avoided had Hamas not broken the ceasefire.

The following is Mahmoud Abbas’s statement at a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit.

“I say in all honesty, we made contact with leaders of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. We spoke with them in all honesty and directly, and after that we spoke with them indirectly, through more than one Arab and non-Arab side… We spoke with them on the telephone and we said to them: We ask of you, don’t stop the ceasefire, the ceasefire must continue and not stop, in order to avoid what has happened, and if only we had avoided it.”

Hamas celebrates targeting Israeli civilians

by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Dec. 28, 2008

Along with today’s TV propaganda in which Hamas depicts itself as a victim, Hamas continues to portray itself as the heroic killer of Israelis.

A video on Hamas TV this morning blended pictures of Hamas fighters shooting at Israel with pictures of injured Israelis and medical evacuation scenes.

In addition, the visuals include pictures of skulls dripping with blood, captioned: “Let them taste violent death”.

Other narrations and texts include:

“Send them to Hell!

Tear them to pieces!”

“Send them to Hell, Qassam missile!”

Another video subtitled in English showing the propaganda used by Hamas to indoctrinate the children of Palestine and recruit them as terrorists.

Remember, these are Israel’s next door neighbors.  Israeli citizens live with these threats every day.

You’ll seldom (if ever) see these reports on the MSM, so help spread the word.  Israel is defending its citizens, responding to attacks by those who seek its annihilation.

Israeli Ground Offensive in Gaza

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

After 8 days of aerial attack on Hamas positions in Gaza, the terrorist organization refused to stop its rocket and mortar attacks against Israeli civilians.  In an effort to secure the safety of its citizens, Israel has put boots on the ground and surrounded Gaza City in a mission to destroy Hamas’ military capability to threaten Israelis in the southern villages and towns.

At the moment, it appears the United States may be the only friend Israel has.  Governments around the globe are condemning Israel’s ground offensive (Arab nations, Asian nations, Turkey, India, Greece, Venezuela, Cuba, European nations, and I’m sure there are plenty more), but President Bush and even high ranking Democratic Senators of both parties still maintain Israel is within its rights.  The United States seems almost alone in condemning the Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians.  Apparently Israeli deaths don’t bother the international community.

Anyone who has served in the combat arms of the military understands this is not what Israel wants.  The Gaza Strip is a tiny piece of land, about 140 square miles, populated by approximately 1.5 million Palestinians.  In other words, it’s quite crowded.

Urban warfare is the most dangerous fighting there is for an attacking force, because the enemy can hide almost anywhere.  Hamas certainly knows the urban areas of Gaza better than the Israeli ground soldiers who will be responsible for clearing buildings and locating weapons caches.  This is a guerilla fighter’s choice of battlefield.  What I’m getting at here, is that Israeli commanders and politicians don’t desire this phase of the conflict, but obviously consider it essential to accomplishing their mission–“to significantly disable the terrorist infrastructure of Hamas and produce lasting change in the security predicament affecting residents of southern Israel.”

According to news reports, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) haven’t yet entered Gaza City or other large urban centers in Gaza.  Instead, they’ve surrounded Gaza City and divided the country into three parts.  They cleared the northern village of Beit Lahia, from which most residents had already fled, and have most likely formed a defensive front somewhere between that village and Gaza City to keep Hamas rocket and mortar brigades from leaving the city to fire their weapons into from the north. Israeli forces have also been reported to have reached Netzarim to the south of Gaza City.

The last thing the Israelis want to do is enter densely populated Gaza City. Let’s zoom in and get a closer look at what they’d be fighting.

In dense urban areas such as this, tanks and other armored vehicles are channeled down narrow streets lined with hideouts where the enemy can lie in wait and attack at close range. Ground troops must enter and clear every building–an extremely difficult and dangerous endeavor. Effectively, the Israeli advantage over Hamas guerilla fighters is greatly reduced in this environment. Only Hamas relishes the thought of fighting on the streets of Gaza City.

If the IDF enters the city proper, it’s only because its generals and Israel’s politicians see no other alternative to end Hamas rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli citizens.

Today’s news from Gaza reports the IDF is now tightening the noose around the city, engaging Hamas militants in the suburbs to the north. Troops stationed to the south of the city are preventing resupply and reinforcements from that direction.

Militarily, the preferrable course of action would be to set a perimeter and beseige the city, but it might take several weeks to force a surrender. International pressure that would mount in response to the certain humanitarian crisis that would develop likely makes takes this option off the table for Israel. It’s doubtful that even US politicians who still support Israel would continue in supporting such a strategy, and Israel is plagued by uncertainty of what course the new Obama administration will take after 20 January when the new President will be sworn in.

Barack Hussein Obama has remained eerily quiet on the subject since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on Hamas. If he supported Bush’s position, it would greatly ease Israel’s mind and give her military more flexibility in strategy and tactics. There’s little doubt Israeli leaders believe they may be “up against the clock” to wrap up the campaign, or at least accomplish as much as they can by the inauguration.

Hamas could have avoided this entire conflict by recognizing Israel’s right to exist and denouncing terrorism.  Instead, it fired rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians.  Now, the terror organization is giving its conditions for a cease fire, but they offer nothing to eliminate the threat to Israel.  Hamas’ conditions (end to Israeli offensive, end blockade and open all borders) fail to satisfy Israeli objectives and would almost certainly guarantee a restart of its attacks on Israel in the future.

Good luck and God speed Israel.

Radical Islam’s War Against the West

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

If you haven’t seen Obsession, Radical Islam’s War Against the West, you should.  It’s well worth the $12.95 asking price.  The documentary uses former terrorists, historians, video from Islamic television, and even a former officer in the Hitler Youth to illuminate the grave threat posed by Islamic extremists that is shockingly ignored by the MSM.

Video from Palestinian Media Watch, television broadcasts from several Islamic networks, and footage of radical Muslim clerics provide first hand evidence of the indoctrination of Muslims by governments and religious leaders (sometimes a combination of both) to slaughter innocent men, women, and children in Western society.  Music videos, television series, propaganda disguised as news broadcasts, school lessons, and sermons are designed and focused to foster a hatred so deep of Western society that families proudly send their children on suicide missions to slay unsuspecting “infidels.”

Brigitte Gabriel, founder and president of American Congress for Truth, says the MSM minimizes the threat this radical branch of Islam poses to Western society.  She understands this threat better than most, since she was born in Lebanon and raised a Christian.  Nonie Darwish, whose father headed Fedayeen terror operations against Israel in the 1950’s, was born in Egypt and raised in the Gaza Strip.  She describes her school curriculum that taught young children to hate and indoctrinated them to aspire to become martyrs.  Khaled Toameh, a Palestinian journalist explains the goal of radical Islam is to bring down the West.   Walid Shoebat, a former Palestinian Liberation Organization terrorists says Muslims are also victims because they are killed if they speak out against the radical element.

The sermons and speeches of Sheiks’ and clerics’ vitriolic calls for violence against the West are too numerous to list.  Several openly call for the destruction of the West and the murder of its citizens.  Abu Hamza Al-Masri was caught on video explaining that infidels are like cows.  If a Muslim has the opportunity to capture a non-believer, he should “try to sell him at market.”  If he cannot be sold, “kill him, it’s ok.”

The documentary illuminates stunning similarities between today’s radical Islamic movement and Nazi Germany in the run up to World War II.  A meeting between Adolf Hitler and then-Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini is revealed in which a strange alliance between the Fuhrer and the non-Aryan Mufti was forged in pursuit of Hitler’s dream to rid the world of Jews.  Nazi propaganda cartoons and those of radical Islamists are shown side-by-side and it’s almost as if radical Islam is using Hitler’s playbook.  The Chamberlain land-for-peace deal of 1938 is compared directly to recent Western proposals attempting to achieve peace in Palestine.  Alfons Heck, once an officer in the Hitler Youth, says “anyone who can’t learn the lessons from Nazi Germany can’t understand the threat posed by radical Islam.”

We can wish and hope for peace, but radical Islamists are at war with us.  Bent on our annihilation, they train their young children to make war on our society, preach hatred in their mosques, and plot to overthrow us.  While the MSM minimizes the threat they pose, they are infiltrating our neighborhoods.

The most amazing part is that so many Westerners defend these terrorists and deny the danger they pose.  In the words of Ms. Gabriel, “Political correctness is killing us.”

Here’s a 10 minute clip from the documentary.

Son of Hamas founder condemns terror organization

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

Mosab Hassan, son of founding member of Hamas Sheik Hassan Yousef, is a thorn in the side of the terror group (and liberals who defend them) who describes his past participation in the organization, his imprisonment for committing terrorist acts, and his subsequent conversion to Christianity and renunciation of Islam.

After serving as a leader of the Islamic Youth Movement “which fought Israeli tanks, celebrated suicide bombers, and recruited others to the cause,” Hassan became disillusioned with the terrorist organization while imprisoned in Israel and observing the horrendous conduct of his radical brethren.  In the following video, Hassan describes Hamas leaders ordering the torture and even killing of imprisoned Hamas members.

In an interview with the Christian Post referenced here, Hassan described his reasons for leaving the Islamic faith and embracing Christianity.  In his opinion, radical Islamic leaders worship “Mohammed more than God, kill innocent people, beat their wives, and don’t have any idea what God is.”

He didn’t immediately inform his family of his decision to convert, and continued to assist his father with his political activities.  His intention was to provide a counterbalance to more radical elements close to his father, attempting to change the organization from the inside.

He has since moved to the United States and is seeking political asylum, but still has hope that his father and family will come to understand his conversion and even follow in his footsteps.

“I know that I’m endangering my life and am even liable to lose my father, but I hope that he’ll understand this and that God will give him and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and to Christianity,” Yousef said. “Maybe one day I’ll be able to return to Palestine and to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God.” 1

It’s too bad the Palestinians in Gaza can’t hear his story as they continue to support the terrorists who continue to bring Hell to their doorstep.

People of Gaza Hostages of Hamas

#TCOT #diggcons

By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice accused the militant Hamas organization of holding the people of Gaza hostage Friday and said the United States continues to seek a “durable and sustainable” cease-fire.

Speaking to reporters in the White House driveway after a meeting with President George W. Bush, Rice also said that the United States remains “very concerned about the situation there and is working very hard with our partners around the world.”

But she reiterated the Bush administration argument that any cease-fire in fighting that is now into its seventh day must hinge on the willingness of Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel. Rice also said she has no current plans to travel to the region.

“Hamas has held the people of Gaza hostage ever since their illegal coup against the forces of (Palestinian Authority) President Mahmoud Abbas,” she said.

Senior Hamas Leader Killed in Air Strike

Digg!
#TCOT #diggcons

An Israeli airstrike leveled the 4-story apartment building senior Hamas official Nizar Rayan called home, resuming the practice of targeting Hamas leaders that was suspended during the 6-month cease fire that expired last month.

Just yesterday, Rayan declared “God willing, Hamas will win.”

Maybe God is telling Hamas whose side he’s on…

Here’s the AP article.

Israel kills top Hamas figure, escalating campaign

By IBRAHIM BARZAK and AMY TEIBEL, Associated Press Writers

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Israel dropped a one-ton bomb on the home of a Hamas strongman Thursday, killing him along with two wives and four children in the first attack on the top leadership of Gaza’s rulers. As the aerial bombardment escalated, the army said it was also poised to launch a ground invasion. Israel also appeared to be sounding out a possible diplomatic exit from the 6-day-old military offensive against Hamas by demanding international monitors as a key term of any future truce.

The bombing targeted 49-year-old Nizar Rayan, ranked among Hamas’ top five decision-makers in Gaza. His four-story apartment building crashed to the ground, sending a thick plume of smoke into the air and heavily damaging neighboring buildings. It killed Rayan and 11 others, including two of his four wives and four of his 12 children, Palestinian health officials said. The Muslim faith allows men to have up to four wives.

Israel has made clear that no one in Hamas is immune in this offensive, and the strike that flattened Rayan’s apartment building in the northern town of Jebaliya drove that message home.

“We are trying to hit everybody who is a leader of the organization, and today we hit one of their leaders,” Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon said in a television interview.

Iranian students raid British diplomatic compound

TEHRAN (AFP) – A group of Iranian demonstrators stormed the British diplomatic compound in Tehran to protest London’s stance towards the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, state news agency IRNA reported.

“A large group of people and students entered the Gholhak gardens, which are occupied by the British embassy to protest at Britain’s policies in supporting the Zionist regime and put up the Palestinian flag there,” IRNA said Tuesday.

A media officer at the British embassy in Tehran confirmed the report adding that diplomatic police had driven the demonstrators out.

“We do confirm the raid on our premises. We are in contact with Islamic republic authorities to resolve the matter,” Mitra Behnam told AFP.
