Finally, a Democrat has told the truth about Obamacare. Representative John Dingell (D-MI) told talk radio host Paul W. Smith that it takes a long time “to put the legislation together to control the people.”

What now? We work to Repeal It!

Now that the Democrats have forced the American people to swallow the unconstitutional, unwanted government takeover of the US health care system, it’s more important than ever that we continue the fight.

More than a year of protests, town halls, letters, calls, and emails to our Senators and Representatives have left us battle weary and perhaps ready to rest. Several times the past few months we thought we had won the war, but each time our opponent abandoned the rule book we were playing by and found a way to press on. But it’s important to realize our enemy is battle scarred and weakened from the prolonged fight as well. They too will be ready to relax, thinking they’ve won and the fight is finished.

But we must search ourselves for our reserves, gather whatever strength we have remaining and continue the fight.

The primary season is upon us. Our energy must now be devoted to identifying, promoting, and electing true conservative Republican candidates who can defeat these Constitution destroying Democrats who have now shackled us with Socialism. Whether or not you identify yourself as a Republican, it’s essential in 2010 we nominate and then elect conservative GOP candidates. Why?

Because the number one priority in these midterm elections is to demote Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. We absolutely must take control on at least one of the Houses of Congress. Pelosi and Reid each determine what legislation comes to the floor of their respective houses of Congress, and nothing less than a Republican majority can change that. Committee chairmanships are also decided by the party in the majority of each house. Yet another reason it’s imperative we take back at least one of the two houses.

Since the Democrats’ insisted on passing this toxic legislation that a majority of Americans made clear they didn’t want, they’ve created for themselves an open sore that must be healed if they hope to win in November. We must focus our attacks on that sore, and do everything in our power to keep it open and festering throughout the campaign.

The Club for Growth is working to do just that. Their “Repeal It” pledge has already been signed by more than 50 lawmakers, over 200 candidates, and almost 15000 citizens. The pledge taken by lawmakers and candidates states they promise to “sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.” Citizens take a pledge to support, “with my time, money, and vote – only candidates who pledge to support its repeal and replacement with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.”

Club for Growth has made it simple to find out if your favorite lawmaker or candidate has signed the pledge. Just go to their website, http://www.repealit.org/, to check. For example, I can click here to instantly see which candidates in my home state of Arkansas have signed the pledge.

If you haven’t done so, please take the citizens’ pledge. Then check to see which Republican candidates in your state have signed, and help get them elected so we can repeal this law and make our way back to a Constitutional government.

Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s Healthcare Flip-flop “Fig Leaf Cover-up”

Bill Smith: We do not publish most press releases that come our way. However, we do try to include when relevant comments by candidates in articles or in comments to articles. But, today we make an exception for comments by former Arkansas State Senator Jim Holt who relates what a most Arkansans and American’s in general feel about Arkansas U.S Senator Blanche Lincoln. She failed the majority will of both Arkansans and the American people. She had the opportunity to kill nationalized health care, but she failed to do so and her singular action has given America Obama Care. It is now law. We do not hear her speaking out to repeal it!

Today, I talked with Rep. Randy Neughbauer (R-TX) and thanked him for boldly calling the present health care bill a “baby killer.” Randy is rightly standing by his words. He also said something that is relevant to this post, “For Change in Federal Government to occur, members of Congress are going to have to both speak boldly and to boldly stand.”

Democrats like Sen. Lincoln don’t have their heads buried in the proverbial sand; they are in fact, clearly opposed to the truth! Some are very comfortable with this position. While others pussy foot around in an effort to deceive their voter base by claiming they are conservative democrats or even pro-life. The truth is that Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s singular vote mattered. As a result of her vote, America no has government health care.

I commend Jim Holt position on this issue. In the past, many who play at politics have criticized Holt for bluntly speaking and for taking tough stands. Well, those that play at politics are the types that have a propensity to compromise away our rights and freedoms. Such has often been the case with members of the Arkansas Democratic delegation to Congress. In November, Arkansans will have the option to fix this situation and to not elect any Democrats to Congress. Reid, Pelosi and Obama have done enough damage with the assistance of Democrats like Blanche Lincoln.

SPRINGDALE, AR – Republican US Senate Candidate Jim Holt called Senator Blanche Lincoln’s announcement today that she would be voting against the Healthcare Reconciliation Bill a “fraud” and a “Fig Leaf” to cover up her crucial 60th vote to proceed with Obama Care. Holt said:

“With a single vote she has divided our Nation right down the middle and we are poised below an avalanche that can only be stopped if we act now. Lincoln’s comment that the House Package ‘includes matter unrelated to health care’ is imbecilic. The package that the Senate originally sent back to the house was full of this ‘unrelated matter.’ The Federal Government is bound by article one section nine of the Constitution to not favor one state above another.

Blanche Lincoln lit the match that burned the Constitution. Her crucial 60th vote for cloture last December sent a clear and undeniable message to the American people that she will continue to adhere to Washington’s liberal agenda despite what the voters in Arkansas want, or what the supreme law of the land says.

America’s Future is worth fighting for. That’s why I am running for the US Senate. Our Nation must be saved.”

The Five Keys to Killing Obamacare

Without question, people who zealously guard their freedoms, love their country, and want a better future for their children lost a big battle on Sunday. Yes, Republicans in the House fought skillfully and won the battle with the public, but the legislative chicanery, bribery, and utter disdain for the will of the people won the day for the Left.

Democrats in extremely red districts proved ready and willing to sacrifice their jobs in November to pass the bill. The Stupak block, which held firm for weeks, joined hands with the pro-abortion crowd to federally fund abortions for the first time in our history. The Democrats in Congress didn’t care about the rules, they didn’t care about the consent of the governed, and they didn’t care about what is good for the country. This is a socialist power grab, pure and simple, and a little bit of what has made this a great country died writhing on the floor of the House last night.

The Democrats are calling this a historic moment. So it is. Of course, the same could be said of the crash of the Hindenburg, the sinking of the Titanic, and the start of the Civil War…

Media, Democrats Caught Lying Again

Yesterday, several members of the Congressional Black Caucus claimed protesters at the Capitol hurled racial epithets at them as they entered the Capitol. Georgia’s John Lewis even claimed to have been spat on. In addition, Barney Frank (D-MA) accused protesters of shouting anti-gay slogans as he entered the Capitol.

All lies.

Not yet a long enough “train of abuses and usurpations”…

…but Democrats are promising more.

The following is part of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Tomorrow, it appears the US House of Representatives will vote for President Obama’s government takeover of the US health care system, not only without consent, but AGAINST THE WILL of the governed!

This planned redistribution of wealth is destructive to Americans’ pursuit of happiness by punishing the successful to reward the unsuccessful. The expansion of government power to mandate the purchase of health insurance will destroy Americans’ liberty to choose what type of health insurance to purchase, or not to purchase it at all. And in the end, as evidenced by those foreign nationals who leave their countries with nationalized health care to have their conditions treated here, Americans’ right to life will be sacrificed as wait times are increased for receiving life saving treatments and patients die as a result.

Tomorrow’s vote, if the Democrats succeed will mark the day our government became “destructive to these ends.” Our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will have all been denied by a narcissistic demagogue whose personal mission more and more seems to be the destruction of the American way of life.

While I am not yet ready to proclaim the past 14 months constitute the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that demands we “throw off such government,” we are certainly moving in that direction. The lavish spending, government seizure of private industry, and complete abandonment of representation of the electorate indeed constitute abuses and usurpations evincing a design to reduce us under the “absolute despotism” of the Democrat Party leadership.

Nancy Pelosi has promised even more changes to the health care system after she “kicks through this door,” or gets this first health care bill to pass. The American people have jammed the phone lines on Capitol Hill, assailed their Congressmen at town hall meetings, and participated in record breaking protests to unequivocally communicate their opposition to the Obama/Democrat agenda. That opposition didn’t begin with the health care debate, it began with Obama’s earliest initiatives.

The American people have stood together to oppose TARP, the auto industry bailouts, cap & trade, cash-for-clunkers, record deficits, bloated budgets, unprecedented levels of national debt, and Obamacare. The entire Obama agenda has been opposed, and that opposition has been ignored time and again. “The consent of the governed” isn’t even a consideration of this administration, or its enforcers in the US House and Senate.

For fourteen months our unalienable rights have been ignored and usurped, with Democrat promises of more to come. Fourteen months is not yet long enough to constitute the “long train” that will demand we take more drastic action.

Not yet, but they’re promising more.

All Arkansas Dems Vote For Obamacare!

Oh not directly. But yesterday their “Yea” votes on House Resolution 1190 are, without a doubt, votes for Obamacare. And votes against the will of their constituents in Arkansas!

HR 1190 was a Republican attempt to block Democrats’ “Slaughter Solution” (aka “Deem & Pass”) that is being considered by Democrats as an end run around the Constitution’s Article I, Section 5 requirement for an up or down vote on the Senate’s version of Obamacare. Our Democrat Congressmen are so rash, narcissistic, and condescending they believe this unconstitutional tactic to avoid a direct vote on the bill will fool their constituents in Arkansas.

Pelosi and her Democrat allies (all the other 221 Democrats who voted for this resolution) think their constituents are stupid enough to believe yesterday’s vote isn’t a vote for Obamacare. But voting to avoid a direct vote and consider a bill passed without voting on it can’t be considered anything but a “Yea” vote for the bill being avoided. (If that sentence seems a little confusing, it’s because we want you to get the idea just how this Democrat play is designed to confound and confuse voters.)

In the last two days calls to Marion Berry’s (AR-01)office yielded assurances that he will read the entire bill before voting on it, and no final bill was even out yet. Mike Ross (AR-04) outright lied when he declared his opposition to Obamacare. And Vic Snyder (AR-02) never made any bones about his disdain for his constituents’ will. Now this.

Even President Obama admitted yesterday’s vote IS a vote for the unpopular Obamacare in his contentious interview with Brett Baier on Wednesday. When asked by Baier if he supported the use of the “Slaughter Rule” he responded,

“What I can tell you is that the vote that’s taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform. And I don’t think we should pretend otherwise.”

This kind of Democrat shenanigan is exactly the reason we must send a conservative Republican to Congress from the 1st District in November. Doing so will guarantee a vote against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House and put an end to this chicanery.

, one of two GOP candidates for Berry’s seat spoke out against this unconstitutional tactic in his blog post, “Crawford Speaks Out Against ‘Deem and Pass’.”

On a day where a Fox News poll shows only 35% of Americans favor the health care reform bill, Pelosi is attempting to use a tactic dubbed “deem and pass” to push through the Senate’s health care reform bill, without having members of Congress actually vote on the bill. FoxNews.com reports this plan is being considered because, “…many House Democrats don’t want to cast a vote in favor of the unaltered Senate bill, which they oppose for numerous reasons.”

Republican central Arkansas businessman Scott Wallace, running for Vic Snyder’s 2nd District seat says it’s time to “unequivocally say NO to government run health care” and put this issue to rest for good. Wallace’s primary opponent Tim Griffin, a US Army reservist and former US attorney, called the vote against this “common sense resolution” a vote for Nancy Pelosi, and against the people of Arkansas. From Griffin’s press release:

“It is clear Arkansans must elect a new conservative majority to Congress in 2010. More importantly, we need to elect conservative leaders who will represent our values, not Speaker Pelosi’s, and work for the people of Arkansas, not against them.

Garland County Tea Party President and GOP candidate for Mike Ross’ seat in the 4th District, Glenn Gallas slammed all three Arkansas Democrat congressmen in his press release. Gallas says,

” [Ross] allowed the bill to go forward to the detriment of his constituents to please Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. When the Republicans moved to stop the “Slaughter Rule”, Mike Ross, Vic Snyder, and Marion Berry, voted along their party line as they often do, shooting down the chance of stopping the Slaughter rule, thereby permitting the Obama Health Care bill to move forward…”

These Arkansas turncoats can’t hide behind the dishonest Democrats’ devious tactics.

They voted for the bill, they voted for Obamacare, and they voted against the will of their constituents in Arkansas!

Help us remove Nancy Pelosi’s gavel as Speaker of the House by electing conservative Republicans this fall!
