More Proof: What Democrats Think of You!
Representative Louise Slaughter (D-NY) explains why she won’t hold town hall meetings, and it reveals the utter disdain she holds for the Americans, her constituents, who wish to have their voice heard.
“I’m not going to give those people a forum…”
“My own dignity and the dignity of the office I hold is important to me…”
“I’ve got the best relationship with my constituents that anybody could ever imagine…”
“They know I’m not going to do anything to hurt them…”
These high and mighty Democrats have begun to consider themselves a cut above those of us who vote to put them in office. They’ve assumed some sort of noble status as a permanent ruling class. We’ve been labeled un-American, Right-Wing Extremist, Right-Wing Terrorist, and now this…beneath the dignity of their office.
Vote these pompous fools out in 2010!
Something’s Got to Give
by Ken Connor at Townhall.com
This has been the “Summer of the Senior” in America.
While the health care debate has raged, senior citizens have been front and center at town hall events, challenging their representatives to explain how Obamacare will affect Medicare and pressing them to shoot straight about whether a “public option” will result in health care rationing or “comparative effectiveness” policies (what Sarah Palin has termed “death panels”).
In the midst of the turmoil, America’s seniors learned this week that, for the first time ever, they will not be receiving a cost-of-living adjustment to their monthly Social Security benefit. The reason for this is that the Social Security Administration bases its cost of living adjustments on inflation, and inflation has been negative this year. Nevertheless, many senior citizens are becoming anxious on news of a cut in their benefits. That anxiety is only a pale foreshadowing of what is yet to come.
According to the latest projections, Social Security will begin paying out more money than it collects in 2016 and will become totally insolvent in 2037. Medicare is estimated to go belly up in 2017?two years earlier than previously projected.

Why ‘ObamaCare’ is Failing
by Jonah Goldberg on Townhall.com
To listen to the White House and its supporters in and out of the media, you would think that opposition to “ObamaCare” is the hobgoblin of a few small minds on the right. Racists, fascists, Neanderthals, the whole “Star Wars” cantina of boogeymen and cranks stand opposed to much-needed reform.
Left out of this fairly naked effort to demonize many with the actions of a few is the simple fact that ObamaCare — however defined — has been tanking in the polls for weeks. President Obama’s handling of health care is unpopular with a majority of Americans and a majority of self-proclaimed independents.
Focusing on the town halls has its merits, but if you actually wanted ObamaCare to pass, casting a majority of Americans as the stooges of racist goons may not be the best way to go.

NY Times Soft on Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)
Thanks to an out-of-state reader for tipping us on a NY Times article published yesterday about Arkansas’ own Senator Blanche Lincoln. Titled “In Arkansas, a Democrat Navigates the Health Fight“, the article gently describes Lincoln’s activities over the August recess. The article might have better been titled “Arkansas Senator Hides from Angry Constituents.”
Senator Lincoln has chosen not to give her constituents who oppose President Obama’s government-run health care plan an audience during her break from DC. Instead of pointing out that she locked out constituents with whom she disagrees, the Times states she “filled the first week of the Senate recess with controlled events before respectful crowds, like business forums and civic club luncheons.” Rather than state Lincoln is intentionally avoiding facing angry constituents who are rightly concerned about Obama’s attempt at a government takeover of the health care industry, Times’ reporter Kevin Sack states, “The cautious scheduling, avoiding any risk of an ugly videotaped confrontation, underscored the political hazards of the health care debate for centrist Democrats like Ms. Lincoln…”
Sacks describes Lincoln as “caught characteristically in the middle” of the health care debate, which isn’t exactly accurate either. Unless caught in the middle is synonymous with bouncing from one extreme to the other, hitting both sides numerous times, flipping and flopping so much that no one has any real idea where the Senator really stands on this one issue. Almost at the end of the article, the author points out that “her opinion has been difficult to pin down.” Most definitely an understatement considering in a span of little more than a month she went from being for it, to against it, to for it again. Our requests for a yes or no answer on whether or not she’d support a public option have been met with vague, non-committal responses from which we’re unable to discern her position. A more fitting description of Senator Lincoln’s position is straddling the fence, waiting until the last possible moment so that she can vote whichever way maximizes her political gain. Waffling might be a good descriptor for Lincoln’s position.
The article so softly touches on Lincoln’s calling Obamacare protesters “un-American” that the reader almost wants to feel sorry for her. Sacks almost makes the Senator out to be a victim when he states “Ms. Lincoln quickly issued a statement saying she should not have used the term. But the state Republican chairman, Doyle Webb, accused her of ‘becoming an elitist.’” The author then fails to challenge Lincoln on her excuse for not holding town hall meetings with her constituents. In fact, Lincoln again speaks in condescending tones of her constituents. “If people genuinely wanted to have a constructive conversation, then that would be a different thing.” she said. “But that has not been what we’ve seen.”
So Lincoln has really learned nothing from the uproar that resulted after her original “un-American” comment and her apology was nothing more than empty words. She obviously still has no respect for those of us who exercise our 1st Amendment right to protest and demand our views be heard on government-run health care.
And the Times seems to be doing more to protect her than to point that out.
Desperate Dems Keep Dropping in Polls
The Obama propaganda blitz is in full swing. At a time when Congressmen can barely seem to find a supporter for the Obamacare plan, the President’s town hall meetings are packed with them. The administration
swears lies that they’re not handpicked crowds intended to boost Obama’s ratings and poll numbers for the nationalization of the health care industry, but it’s impossible to believe him.
In Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll the number of likely voters who disapprove of the President’s policies has now risen to 52%, the highest it’s been since his inauguration. ARRA News Service notes a Gallup poll shows the President’s full court press to push the issue hasn’t helped. Last month 50% of respondents disapproved of Obama’s handling of the health care issue while 44% approved. This month, even with the concerted effort by Obama and his lackeys, 49% disapprove and 43% approve. A net gain of zero.
Other polls show 54% of Americans favor middle class tax cuts over spending more than a trillion dollars for a government takeover of the health care industry and support among likely voters for HR 3200 has fallen to a new low with only 42% favoring the House plan. The growing distrust of Obama on his signature issue isn’t sitting well with the President or his supporters.
After the Obama administration threatened to “punch back twice as hard,” protests began turning violent as desperate liberals attacked when they felt their dream of socialized medicine slipping away. Many Congressmen are refusing to hold more town hall meetings as the futility of fooling voters becomes apparent. Once the Democratic strategy of lying to Americans at town halls failed to accomplish desired results, the Obama camp turned to attacking the ordinary citizens standing up for their freedom. Democrats in the White House and elsewhere labeled protesters “un-American” and an “angry mob.”
As the polls referenced above show, their desperate tactics have thus far been unable to stop the rushing tide of resistance to a government takeover of another 1/6 of our economy. Now Obamanot Senator Chuck Shumer (D-NY) is looking to force the American people to accept the unpopular takeover by trashing the Senate tradition of allowing unlimited debate by re-labeling the health care bill as a sort of budget bill. Dishonest? Yes. But Democrats have little respect for truth and transparency.
Conservatives still have the advantage though. With public sentiment against Obama and Democratic policies growing at an unbelievable pace and the 2010 campaign season pretty much beginning now, Dems up for re-election have to be squirming in their seat, especially Blue Dogs in conservative districts. They realize their necks are on the line if their constituents are unhappy when they pull the lever in November.
As long as the opposition to a government-run health care system doesn’t fade, Pelosi and Obama won’t have the votes to pass Obamacare.
Now We’re Un-American?
According to Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), my US Senator anyway!
Is there any level so low Democrats in Washington won’t stoop to it? Are they so conceited they actually believe themselves as they outright lie to the American people? Do they really think the American people are so terribly stupid they can’t see through their childish, imbecilic responses to conservatives’ fact-based challenges to their agenda?
Our first hint of things to come was the Department of Homeland Security report that warned law enforcement agencies of the danger posed by virtually every conservative in the country. Labeled “Right-Wing Extremists” in the report, conservative Republicans, Independents, and third party backers were pointed to as potential terrorists who deserved the scrutiny of local, state, and federal law enforcement officials. Even targeting the most patriotic among us, veterans of the US armed forces, it generated the first of several conservative uprisings to challenge Obama administration policies.
We thought it bad when we found out they didn’t read the $787 billion so-called “stimulus” bill. Then the arrogant Henry Waxman (D-CA) hired a speed reader to buzz through the Cap & Trade bill on the House Energy & Commerce committee at an unintelligible pace so that he could claim to have “read the bill.” The move was designed to undermine an attempt by Republicans to force them to fulfill their obligations to constituents by reading the bill to fully understand what the legislation would saddle the American people with. It was a classless, egotistical attempt by Democrats to ridicule both constituents and fellow members of the US House who demanded Democrats act responsibly and perform the duties for which they were hired.
The same Democratic legislators refused to read HR 3200, “Obamacare,” and are now paying the price. Now that conservatives have realized their representatives refuse to do their jobs, constituents are taking the task upon themselves. We now have a situation where ordinary citizens are taking the time to read legislation and explaining it to our elected officials. And the Democrats don’t like it.
Their lies and talking points are no longer holding water with the American people, because they understand it better than the Congress! Congressmen are walking into town halls and other public meetings armed with a single sheet of Pelosi-Reid talking points while their disgruntled constituents come armed with the actual text of the bill! Backed into a corner with facts, Democrats in Washington are lashing out in desperate attempts to denigrate their own constituents.
The Obama administration has now issued a mandate to his minions to turn in neighbors, friends, and family who write and forward communications critical of Obamacare. Not stopping there, the White House even demands “fishy” truths about Obama’s government-run health care program mentioned in casual conversations should be reported to the Propaganda Office in the White House. Ask yourself, when have we ever faced the prospect of an American President demanding citizens turn each other in to the government for disagreeing with policy? Never.
If that’s not enough to worry you, the President’s aides have now made direct threats to “punch back twice as hard” whenever the administration’s health care policies are challenged. We saw this put into practice when the administration sent in union thugs to physically assault protesters outside a St. Louis town hall. So now we have a President actively engaging in suppression of Americans’ ability to freely express their disagreement with their government.
And now we hear our own Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) has described us as un-American! It’s funny how Democrats have no problem with protesters who demonstrate against conservatives and their causes. According to Hillary Clinton, “we have a right to disagree with any administration.” But I guess she meant any Republican administration. Of course Lincoln is now backing away from her comment, but calling your constituents un-American doesn’t happen with a slip of the tongue.
She’s retreating because the heat from the fire she stoked is too hot! Though her Arkansas colleague didn’t even face a Republican challenger last year, the GOP field to run against Lincoln has already drawn a crowd. Arkansas State Senator Kim Hendren and Arkansas Tea Party organizer Tom Cox have already announced their intent to run, while central Arkansas businessman Curtis Coleman and State Senator Gilbert Baker are considering runs but have yet to announce. (Although I have it from a pretty reliable source that Coleman will announce soon.) A conservative Independent, Trevor Drown, has also announced his intent to run for Lincoln’s seat.
Lincoln’s opposition hopefuls wasted little time taking Arkansas’ senior Senator to task for her callous comment. The Cox campaign issued the following press release:
“Since the founding of the United States people have been exercising the freedom and responsibility to question their elected representatives. The current public political debate resembles the enthusiasm of our nation’s first 100 years. A U.S. Senator referring to The People as “disrespectful” and “un-American” for calling on their Representatives is appalling. Senator Lincoln’s statements are indicative of the elitist Washington D.C. arrogance and mentality that continues to dismiss the voice of Middle America. The citizens of this country deserve honest answers to their questions.”
Coleman, who’s made numerous posts on his blog enumerating the flaws in the Democrats’ health care plan, had this to say:
“What’s sad is that Senator Lincoln apparently doesn’t value the opinions of hard-working Arkansans who took time away from their busy schedules to express their concern over losing control of their healthcare to the government. Senator Lincoln’s description of these Arkansans as ‘un-American’ illustrates how deeply out of touch she is with the American people.”
Lincoln’s planning a series of public speaking events this week (not town halls) and we hope she gets an earful from some of us un-American Right-Wing-Extremists everywhere she goes!
What’s happening to our freedoms?
From Bob Porto’s Blog
It seems that Democrats in Washington, even those elected to represent Arkansas, are becoming more and more distant from those of us who pay their salaries. With trillions of dollars now committed to bailing out our nation’s largest banks and corporations, the nationalization of our auto industry, unprecedented government spending and national debt, and now an effort to establish a government-run health care system, Americans are standing up and speaking out. Concerned with the prospect of their country having more in common with the former USSR than anything envisioned by our founding fathers, conservative citizens are exercising their constitutional rights with a fervor never before seen on the right side of the political spectrum.
Constitutional rights, enjoyed since the ratification of the Bill of Rights–freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to peaceably assemble, and freedom to petition the government to redress grievances, may soon be reserved only those of like mind with the President and his progressive allies in Congress. The 1st amendment guarantees these rights and also the freedom of the press. Often called the 4th branch of government, the free press has long served to inform the people of any attempt to abridge these inalienable rights. But what would happen if the free press became complicit with a repressive government, and refused to inform the people when their rights were abridged?
We might see ordinary people taking up the pen and taking to the airwaves in an effort to uncover the truth. Shouting from every street corner, publishing in their living rooms, and striving to get in front of every camera and every crowd to have their voice heard. The administration and its allies in Congress and the press may begin by dismissing these vocal dissidents as a discontent minority, hoping they’ll grow weary and go away. If instead the rebel movement doesn’t fade away, those in power may send out scouts to demonize and demagogue those who disagree. And when the opposition movement continues to expand and grow, bring out the big guns. Have top administration officials and leaders of Congress attack those private citizens who stand and fight to preserve their constitutional rights.
And remember, the 4th branch of government no longer stands up for the people. Government lies go unchallenged as the press becomes nothing more than a mouthpiece for the propaganda disseminated by those in power. Uninformed by major news outlets, most citizens would remain unaware as offices were created to collect names of those who dare to publicly disagree with those in power. When the ruling party sent out enforcers to intimidate voters and violently attack those standing up for their rights, most would remain uninformed. When legislators call their own constituents un-American for exercising their first amendment rights, few would ever know.
But wait, all of these things are happening now! This isn’t a hypothetical situation, it’s here. We’re now in the trenches daily, fighting to have our voices heard, to stand up and be counted, but the vehicle Americans could always count on to spread their message is parked, refusing to start its engine and carry its load. Thank God for the internet, new media, talk radio, and Fox News! Because they’re the only reason our message is carried by anything more than word of mouth. But we can’t be satisfied until the mainstream media fulfills its obligation to inform the public also.
I suggest we expand our offensive. Our strategy has been effective thus far, but we’ve yet to deal a crippling blow to those who seek to destroy our freedoms. We need a new tactic to add to our battlefield portfolio, one that brings the mainstream media to its knees and forces it to accept its responsibility and report the abuses of our government to the unaware in our society.
There’s only one path to such an impact and it runs directly through the advertisers who bankroll the American media. It’s time to make our own lists, lists of advertisers who fund the operations of media outlets who remain silent on the abuses perpetrated by the Obama administration and its allies. Then it’s time to boycott those advertisers. Don’t buy their products, don’t use their services, and don’t patronize their establishments until and unless the media outlets they support begin doing their jobs!
We’re making a difference. There’s no doubt of that. But we can’t become satisfied, not until the threat is past and victory is certain. So fellow patriots, as we continue to place direct pressure on our elected officials, let’s also expand the fight. Join with me to take aim at their enablers, the mainstream media.
Denounce SEIU Violence Against Peaceful Protesters
If you’re in the neighborhood, show up to take a stand against union thuggery and Obama’s buddies in the SEIU!
The protest is to demand justice for Kenneth Gladney, an African-American conservative who was brutally beaten by 4 individuals, at least 2 of whom were identified as SEIU representatives. The beatings included racial slurs and required hospitalization of Mr. Gladney.

Eyewitness account of union thugs beating black conservative activist
August 6, 2009
St. Louis, MissouriI am a friend of Kenneth Gladney, who was attacked this evening at the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting. I was at the town hall meeting as well. I witnessed the entire melee. Kenneth was approached by a SEIU representative as Kenneth was handing out “Don’t Tread on Me” flags to other conservatives. The SEIU representative demanded to know why a black man was handing out the “Don’t Tread on Me” flags. The SEIU member then used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by two other men who are SEIU members and an unidentified woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing t-shirts with the SEIU logo.
They punched Kenneth in the face and kicked him in the back and his head numerous times. Mr. Gladney was beaten badly. One assailant fled on foot. Three others were arrested. Kenneth is currently at St. John’s Mercy Hospital being treated for his many injuries. Mr. Gladney was merely expressing his freedom of speech by handing out flags. He in no way provoked anything, as evidenced by the fact that three people were arrested. We hope that Ken recovers from these injuries, however he is in great pain at this time. I am Mr. Gladney’s friend and attorney. We will be pursuing legal action at our disposal. This was a truly senseless hate crime carried out by racist union thugs.
Mr. Gladney is a tea party supporter and conservative activist, although he subscribes to no particular political party. We are calling on the SEIU, Representative Carnhan, and President Obama to condemn the racist actions of these thugs. In the days to come, we will be investigating who these thugs actually work for and how strong their alliances to other various left-wing organizations may be.
We hope the St. Louis Tea Party and Tea Party organizations around the country will protest the SEIU offices in every major city across America to expose the These strongarm actions must stop.
Regards,
David B. Brown
Remember, these thugs represent the organization that virtually resides in the White House and advise President Obama on nearly every form of policy. Free speech under attack, freedom of assembly met with brutal attacks by left-wing thugs, the President calling on his left-wing allies to turn in those with whom he disagrees. Is this the change America voted for?
Snyder, Ross Little Rock Town Hall
Ark. crowd mocks lawmakers over Obama health plan
That’s the AP headline on Yahoo and here are some YouTube videos posted from the Town Hall meeting held at Arkansas Children’s Hospital today.
Attendees become upset when the Congressmen try to convince the crowd the President doesn’t want a single-payer system.
“You guys are undermining American exceptionalism…You need to get the government the Hell out of it…” says another member of the crowd.
“We need tort reform.” says a young lady and the crowd goes wild.
Ross has a problem with insurance company employees making more than the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“Why do we need another government solution for what Medicare, Medicaid, COBRA, SCHIP, etc. was supposed to do?” asks a participant.
The crowd wasn’t all opposed to Obamacare. One young man proudly proclaimed his support for Obama and told Ross and Snyder he’d be glad to have them supervise his health care system. But for a rescheduled, short notice, middle of the workday town hall meeting, I’d say our message got through.
